I think Jenny hit the nail right on the head in the third or so reply. Old people just have different views, they've not been raised in more liberal environment, their less tolerant and accepting of things which aren't the usual norm.
It happens with racism as well. Sometimes I think my nan should be wearing a Ku Klux Klan suit or be walking around with Swafstika tattoos.
Be thick skinned and ignore it, or have an adult debate with your boss. If that was my boss I'd wind him up in fact. |

If you live in one of 15 or so states that bans discrimination against homosexuals, you might have a legal case, even if you are not a lesbian...that is if you took offense and want to take action against him. I personally shrug all homophobic remarks off. It's easy to leave prejudice people be. But when those remarks are said by an authority figure it can feel really uncomfortable when you can't retort without worrying about your job.
It all depends on the context with which he said it. He could have been trying to joke. You know old people...what they think is funny can sometimes just be really old and ugly and smelly like them.

i see no point in hating someone who is in a same sex relationship. what they do is their business. if they found someone they want to be in a relationship with, then why should it be a problem? |
