The 'Truthers' are no doubt drinking from the same kool-aid bin as the 'Global Warming' advocates; science and numbers can be construed to say anything one wants and if someone yells loud enough, for long enough, they'll get attention. |

dont put them in the same basket. at least the global warming advocates actually do investigation, and publish their work in peer reviewed journals and the like. they might be wrong, but they do not suffer from the same level of dishonesty that is the bread and butter of the truth movement. |

no, im saying some people deal with grief a little better than others, and some people will never be pleased, no matter how much information you give them.
as admiral adama said in season 2 of battlestar galactica "People look for complicated answers when something terrible happens. Maybe we were just caught by surprise and were beaten. And maybe we have to learn to live with that." the 911 conspiracy was born out of this, no doubt.

Tell you what Sparky, when that side comes up with anything other than conjecture and half-truths (like the sad Loose Change group; more like, Loose Screws) then we'll talk.
Until then, facts are facts and no amount of 'government conspiracy' is going to overshadow the fact that 19 men outside of America are the ones that walked on those planes and did what they did. |

last i checked there were 40 "family members" part of the official 9/11 Truth Movement.
40 out of literally, thousands.

People out there really, really hate what your government's have been up to since WW2 to the point where they will literally hijack planes and crash them into buildings. Doesn't matter if they're Democrats or Republicans, they've both been a bunch of complete arseholes when it comes to foreign policy, little proxy wars playing off one side against the other all through the cold war and this is the end result.
Accept it, you're widely reviled and hated outside of north America.
They don't care if you do peacekeeping, kill the odd tyrant off and donate a lot of money to charities and humanitarian projects. Look, I'm not a 'Death to America' supporter by any means, but there's some real reasons why you are hated and a lot of it does eventually come down to you Joe and Jane America.
Because what your country does, it does for you, it does for the big businesses that employ you, the military budget to 'protect' you from whoever the flavour of the month enemy is all the way down to the petrol you stick in your car and the utilities and schools.
They don't care if your white, black, yellow, pink or got green dots, who you worship, Christian, Muslim, Buddha, Frank the talking dog or Scientology. They don't even care if you're slightly sympathetic to the cause of people outside your country and the conditions they endure as a direct result of the average Joe or Jane American using 15-20x the amount of resources to live the way the live.
You are hated.
To the extremists out there, they also hate you and they also consider you a target, they don't need to fabricate anything to get these people to crash a plane into a US city, 60 years of craptacular foreign policy, resource hoarding, proxy wars, invasions, tyrant training and making them 'free' with democracy is enough.
3-4 generations simply has made the crap rise to the top where it's annoyed enough to start killing some of you.

You're only part right, although you're mostly right. IMO, the only thing you're wrong in stating is that the Goverment/Corporations somehow do it "for us." No they don't, they just screw us over a lot less than people living outside our borders. That's also the reason most people make me sick. They have no sense of civic responsiblity or responsibility period. And it's pretty disgusting when that willful ignorance accounts for bloodshed and misery. In a so called "democratic" society, the Goverment can only get away with what it's populace let it get away with. It's made all the more appaling by the fact that when you try to inform people about it, a good majority of the time the choose to remain ignorant in denial. And more often than not will go to just about extreme to maintain their delusional world view, not to mention vilifying and attacking you like a pack of rabid dogs in the process. But this attitude of entitlement is only going to bite you in the ass one day. But your'e right in a sense, I think most people would rather fill up their SUVs and occupy themselves other gluttonous indulgences the consumer culture has to offer. Most people are satisfied living in the confines created by the state and their corporate masters, as long they have their little toys to play with. |
