Yes, it's similar to the effect of US and it's smaller partners of UK & Israel using it to wage their imperial aggression. I remember very well prominent jews using the "holocaust theme" to urge aggression on Serbia as well against Iraq and of course very recently against Iran too. As for 9/11 connection , that's non sense as it was an escalation of war by al qaida on US military and economic targets which the US used as an excuse to invade for oil |

Not exactly, Kuwait was drilling in to reserves and extracting oil from reserves accessible to Iraq aswell. But I'm certainly not saying that justified Sadaam invasion. |

But that's certainly not the reason the rest of the world was given.
Saddam claimed that Kuwait used to part of Iraq. |

I guess you mean the 1st gulf war in which case it may be true as Saddam's regime was conned and tempted into going into Kuwait which they took on and paid for it. But it's also that it was overblown since most kuwaiti's fled in time and later on all kinds of false media stories surfaced like occupation of Arabia, incubator baby stories and so on. |

I would be wary of that conclusion, I think he just didn't like Kuwaiti royals getting rich off of Iraqi oil and it escalated from there |

No, he invaded Kuwait based on some very old documents claiming rights to Kuwaiti lands and to help pay for his massive debts that he incurred during the Iran-Iraq war. |

Junk science indeed. I like the thing Rosie said about the first time fire ever melted steel. What the do you think we use to melt stuff? Mankind was making purified metals with fire thousands of years ago. We had these things up until industrialization called smithies that were run by blacksmiths. They used fire to make metal.
It didn't melt the steel either, but it didn't need to. There are three major types of crystalline structures found in metals. Ferrous metals, like steel, are typically body-centered structure. When steel is heated up to the tempuratures experienced in the fires at the WTC(estimated to be around 750 to 800 C) it begins to change it's crystalline structure to face-centered(it's kind of complicated so I'll leave it at that) which is much more soft(metals like gold, brass, and lead are face-centered). Combine the stress of all the weight on the floor in the first place, the weight of an entire airplane (another 50 tons or so), broken support columns from the plane crashing, and then a fire that burns hot enough to change the strength characteristics of steel. It doesn't take a whole lot of imagination to figure out what is going to happen.
Had the temperatures really been hot enough to melt the steel, the towers would have come down much much faster than they did. Thank god that wasn't the case as it allowed people to get out of the buildings. |
