Should I buy Pioneer CDJ1000's? (pg. 2)

| I actually like it without the wave display. It didn't seem to help me that much. It's much more accurate on programs like Ableton Live or MixMeister or any of those programs like Torque or Serato, than it is on the tiny screen on a 1000. You don't have that on TTs, so you really just have to know your tunes. And I agree, the 1000s are over-priced. |

Ha! I have Torq, and I actually suggested that they implement a view that looks LIKE the CDJ-1000's. Why? The Torq or Ableton wave display is detailed for sure, but it's too busy and you can't see an overview of the whole track in an easy to look at manner.
I thought the 1000's was pretty stupid when I first got them, but then I realized they are actually really well done. They only show you the "upper half" of the wave form (to keep it clean looking), and very clearly show you a breakdown or what not coming up. You don't really need a lot of resolution in that application.
As for not having that on TT's, haven't you ever looked at your vinyl? DJ's have been reading the vinyl for years.

If Denon hadn't had so many issues with their DN-S3500's, perhaps they could have had a decent competitor on the market that would force Pio to drop their prices.

Yeah you can look at your vinyl and I know they do, and when I had TTs I did, but sometimes at clubs, it's dark so it's not always easy to see a black vinyl at all clubs. Not every club or bar has the DJ booth illuminated so you can see the vinyl. I think the best, in that situation, is to just know the track, listen to the track, vs. starring at a piece of vinyl. Maybe to look when the track is almost over with, which is the same thing you can do on CDJs that don't have WAVE display, see how long the track has left and mix it in from there. It's actually better on CDJs, because you can see how many minutes and seconds are left remaining. You really can't do that on TTs. |

| you should get the 1000's because they are the best. i'm spinning on cdj1000mk3's and the djm800. it doesnt get any better! what do the professional dj's use? what do all of the best clubs have in them? cdj1000mk3's! there are sooooo many things you can do with 1000's that you cant do on 800's. yeah loops, pitch, and hot cues doesnt sound like much but you can do soo much w/ those features.if you can afford them then go for it... |

| how useful are the hotcues? i know you can set up like 3 different parts on a track to cue. so if i hit this button on a song does it seemlessly go back to this spot in the song and sound continuous? |

| Save your money. Get 800s and put the rest towards other accessories. |
