Found a weird article located here. Am I the last horse to pass the finish line? or did you not know about this because apparently it affects AG users.... wtf |

I've been getting pop up ads on AG lately.
I didn't click to accept Gator or Web Accelorator either.

| Yep, all older versions of AG apparantly had that little gem. Do a search on your hard drive for vx2.dll. If you find it, your infected |

| Download Ad Aware, it will remove such spyware programs.... I use it daily, and it works awesome. |

Yeah delete this file (i did when i heard about this nasty file), the worst that could happen is that audiogalaxy may not work properley, if so uninstall it, and download the latest version which doesent include the dll file

Thanks Jon and nrjizer for your help.

Think you've blocked all spyware and embedded ad-serving software? Wrong. (Update the latest version of Adaware 5.62 and the new reference file will catch it, you must make sure to be using the latest reference file.) |
....might want to double check that. It's not just those annoying popups , it's the fact that they can monitor your private information if you're not careful. Rat bastards.
I only recently downloaded AG on my current system so I should be ok, but I am going to check for those .dll files. |
