BIG +1 to that.

it's really not *that* bad, you know :P It's just that the good times in Toronto are so much less self-evident. You have to know what you're doing, where you're going, what neighbourhood, what time, etc etc. There's a crazy amount of stuff going on, and you really can meet some very nice, fun, generous, beautiful, (whatever) people. Of course, there's lots of crappy people, too.

The biggest problem is that it's not so friendly to walk around. The blocks are huge, the buildings are enormous, and things are really spread apart. All of the best things in the city are so far away from each other that it's hard to just go and have a good time.

lol thats a very interesting comment since most american cities vary WIDELY in what they are like. I could never place american cities in a generalized statement because they are all so different. thats not necessarily a good thing, lol, but still. :stongue: :stongue:

I understand they are all different. But they all (or almost all the American cities I've lived in/vistied) have one thing in common: DULL!.
They lack that je-ne-sais-quoi that Montreal has for example, that charm... I dunno..I just never liked it there, it always lacked something...

ok lets go over a few things:

- sports teams: who ing cares. they dont have any impact on living in toronto other than economic, and we all know they still draw huge income.
- financial snobbery: everyone who is making big bucks in toronto probably lives in the suburbs.
- concerts and special events: how is it toronto's fault that they all come to toronto as the hot spot? blame your own city for not having a cool place to go or the band for not wanting to go there.

i come from a small town in the country and i go to school in toronto. i love it. anything i want i have access to, and its just not the same as any of the other larger cities in ontario. hamilton dosent have the night life or the cultural attraction as toronto, it just dosent have the population or the money.

its just jealousy. smaller big cities are just pissed because they dont have what toronto has. deal with it. either move to toronto, somewhere else or take action and see what you can do about improving your own situation.
