| With mothers day and her birthday around the corner, I have decided it would be nice to get my mom hooked up with the latest and greatest in home entertainment. I've been looking for a place that not only sells this stuff, but offers installation ( the ability for custom shelving and cabinetry is a big plus.I really want the television to only be visable when it is in use.I've also have considered an intercom style system for different rooms.) Can anyone recommend a good place or person for this? I'd really like to get some quotes before the end of this week. Also, feel free to leave suggestions on flat screens. Never owned one so I'm a little rough around the edges trying to find the best value. Malek? you seem to love this stuff, hints? |

- High-end audio go to CDFAudio or Fillion
- Wall unit stuff check out CWI*
- LCD/Plasma go with Samsung pretty much the best LCD/Plasma sets on the market, way better than the over priced Runco ones
* They do wall units and stuff pretty, probably can make something that you want for your mother not sure if they can get it done by mother's day though
Also if you really want to go over the top for the audio/visual type stuff, mostly the audio components go with: Mark Levinson or Classe Audio (Quebec company). Speakers there are many out there really good ones, actuall well known ones are: Wilson Audio or Rockport, thing is with these type of speakers, they weigh as much as a person even more, just for one speaker. So hopefully for your mother she does not live in an apartment or anything like that, dont want the speakers going threw the floor.
A setup like that can go around $300k+ easily, without the custom wall unit to hide the tv.
Thing is a system like that is like a Bentley a couple years after use it sells for 1/2 the price pretty much. |

| Pioneer for plasma, Sony or Samsung for LCD. |

Sony for OLCD, thing is they only have the 11" coming out this year, too bad they arent releasing the 27" this year or anything slightly bigger.
Plus Plasma on the way out. LCD's right now have a better contrast ratio, if your lucky to find the Samsung LCD with 15,000:1 contrast ration kudos to you. |

Speakers: Triangle Galaxy 5.1
LCD: Samsung LNT4061F
A/V: Cambridge Audio Azur 640R
3 things I recommend, not really over the top things. Should set you back about $7-8k |
