All I remember from it is some male vocal saying "Set your mind in motion, motion." or something similar.

And no, it's not Witness of Wonder.

Jesus this is weird. I came across this thread earlier today and by pure chance later on I found the tune I was after.

In case any of you give a it was Way Out West - Shark Hunt.

Weird. Weird. Weird.

I'm so glad Wizzy Noise-Sea Song got IDed because that melody was in my head for 8 months plus before someone got name of the track.

That piano loop and the spoken vocals at the beginning of DJ Shadow - Building Steam With A Grain of Salt will probably be stuck in my head for forever :p

happens often, should happen with good songs, if the hook it's very powerful i think it's more likely to happen at some point.

Some tracks that got stuck on my head were:

Talla 2XLC - Shine (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)
Dakota - Chinook

I got them on my head and i needed time to realise which songs were.

And the most notably song that has been playing on my head for a lot of years is The Mistery - Mistery , if a track can be on your head for more than 10 years... it's definitely a good track.

Hits too close to home.

Local prog house DJ dropped a BOMB a couple years ago. Never got the chance to ask him for the ID. The melody was stuck in my head for weeks, so I tried to recreate it on guitar (the melody was a guitar anyways). I emailed him and he has no idea.

Recently there was a track produced by Envio called "Love Poison" which resembled the melody, but the track I heard was a lot more proggy and middle eastern sounding, Mo Shic style.

Probably the best track I've ever heard, and I'll never hear it again...live anyways.

Still haven't found this track and never will :(

Yea, happened today and I just remembered what track it was. Worse thing is, it's not even out yet and I was trying desperately to find it on beatport. I just had the vocal sample stuck in my head, which is basically just the word "free" repeated over and over.

It only happens with tracks I don't own :p

Beatport samples get stuck in my head ever-too often.

Tigerskin - Too Hot was in my head for months before summer due to the carefree summer vibe I get from it.
Rodri Santos
i shouldn't have looked at the ID sticky topic... now i have many tracks on my head that i have already listened but don't know his name :(

All the time. Right now for me I have the first breakdown from BT - Tripping The Light Fantastic stuck in my head.

Yeah I've got that too, but just once in a while.. Sucks big time if you don't know it :(

Finding out what the song is and hearing the first part of the snippet makes you feel great though

It could just be luck but I've found that sooner or later you eventually hear the song again.

This happens to me all the time as well, but last week it got freaky. Keep in mind, I'm relatively new to EDM.

Last week, I was at work early in the morning and the vocals "My feelings for you, will always be free." I was humming it all day long, trying to figure out what the hell it was or where I heard it. I get home from work, get on Beatport quick quick to download some songs out of my crate before heading out again, and see Avicii - My Feelings for You on the top 10, so I click and preview it, and.. it blew my mind. This song was brand new, so how did I know the lyrics and the melody?

I left my house without doing any research, and it bothered me.. I had come to a conclusion that it was definitely a sample from an older song, but I had no idea where I heard it. I asked my EDM friends, and sure enough, one of my friends played the Cassius version for me nearly a year ago, she remembers. Since then, I've never heard the original or any of its remakes...
