i think pot is.... now to think of it....

for some, not for all tho

people are like...wow if weed does this to me, i wonder what this does

I think that prohibition makes it a gateway drug. The government makes pot seem like a horrible thing. But when one experiments with pot, you come to the realization that it realy is not as bad as it is made to be out by the media/ goverment. As a result of this you lose faith in the information that the governments gives about all kinds of things. And that can lead to further research and experimnetaion of other substances as a question of authority.

I disagree.

I gaurantee that there is a much larger percentage of alcohol drinkers that have never tried other drugs, than there are weed smokers that have never tried other drugs.

I know many people that drink alcohol and have never moved on to anything else. However, I don't think I know a single weed smoker that has never tried other drugs.

i find it funny when people would be at my house whacked out of there tree doing g and e and coke and whatever but when i offer them a joint they say they cant smoke it cuz it s them up. its happened a few times and i always laugh

Labeling marijuana as a gateway drug is acceptable, but I would say friends are the gateway to drugs. Most people dont do a drug without hearing positive feedback beforehand and knowing someone that can provide that drug.

Thank you friends!

I agree with -EuG-. Pot is a gateway drug because it is illegal. Once you've smoked pot, you've "broken the law" and in one way or another, it makes it somewhat more acceptable to brake the law again and try other drugs.

... And alcohol definitely a legal gateway drug as well.

I guess weed was my gateway drug, but i hate that whole concept.. it's like saying looking at girls is the gateway to STDs or something.

an article danny and eug might like (if they didn't plagiarize from it ;) ) : http://www.regulatemarijuana.org/home/node/386

that would probably be me... i'm a tank when it comes to alcohol and can handle other stuff better than most people... but unless i've smoked several times in the days beforehand, i usually get really ed up by good weed.

*recalls collapsing and passing out for about 5 seconds while talking to the taco bell girl at silvercity ancaster... on a crowded saturday night*

i never understood why weed was the gateway drug. i never tried any other drugs and just stuck to drinking for the longest time because the experiences i had with weed just ended in paranoia and an unplanned nap. id rather be up and doing things if im going to get ed up, if i want to sit and stare at move on its own for hours ill do shrooms.

No, it is not.
