stricter ownership isn't going to stop those that legally obtain guns from going troppo, nor is it going to prevent legally obtained guns from ending up on the black market. |

Nagasaki Mayor Shot Dead
Police in Nagasaki, Japan, have said that the mayor of the city was shot twice in the back whilst leaving his campaign office. He died in the early hours of the morning, Wednesday local time.
Police believed the person responsible for shooting, 61-year-old Itcho Ito, probably was part of a criminal syndicate. Japan's very strict gun control laws mean that most illegal guns are owned by gang members.

what on earth is your point? coz all im hearing is rubbish.

Japan had the lowest rate, at 0.05 gun deaths per 100,000 (1 per 2 million people). The police in Japan actively raid homes of those suspected of having weapons |

if those 0.05 gun deaths is caused by criminals, then im not all that concerned about criminals being armed in a society where nobody else is. |

You need stricter laws that's all only allow low power rifles and shotguns. I don't see the point in allowing people to have assualt rifles to protect their property.
Everyone rants on about criminals and guns. What you fail to notice are the shooters who are slaughtering their fellow colleagues and students, are normal people their not career criminals and gangsters etc.
People need to get over these view of criminals and guns. Yes they'll always be able to access guns, just like the access stolen cars, credit cards, boats and drugs etc. What everyone fails to pick up on is most of these nutcases running around like rambo are your normal joe average with acute psychological problems. |

Exactly, these shootings aren't performed by hardened criminals who obtain their weapons via the black market, they're obtained by pissed off, angry, depressed people who just snap one day and lash out with the closest means possible. How many lives are saved if they reach into the draw and pull out a knife instead of a gun? |

No, we should have the right to arm ourselves, you never know when a revolution will come and every man and woman will take up arms...

Or psycho crazed latinos with attitude!! You Know... Hispanic Causing Panic ;)
I could agree with you my lil O'Pikey O'Pal of Mine ;)
I could...... if lets say, the incident in VT happened every month or so... but this is an isolated event, and remember, the USA is nothing like Europe or the Middle East. Our police force is adequate enough to keep the laws in order.
Plus also this event in VT is an isolated event in history, we can start talking gun control once hits the fan... but even then, you would have to pry my gun out of my dead cold hands...... I know, typical american gung ho attitude from the state of Texas.... but think, if the hit, who would you feel safe with, a young naive college kid filled with ideals of Colorful, Every One Loves one another Utopian outlook toward the world. Or someone that can protect your ass when the time comes to stand up and fight for your life?
Wow did I just explain both World Wars?? ;) |
