Ah...yeah it sounds great, except for the fact that the new bulbs are filled with toxic mercury. good luck if you break it and breath in any of the dust.

Again the idea is right, the application is wrong.

But my dimmer switches! :conf:

I think this is a step in the right direction though. I believe Australia and California are already moving in this direction.

I replaced most of my bulbs at home anyways.

However.... if it's the long fluorescent bulbs like here at the office and libraries, they give me headaches.

Oh... I dio want to add... no fluorescent bulb can replace the halogen lights I have in the kitchen and bathrooms... that's one drawback... but I read GE is developing a more energy efficient incandescent , so we'll see.

big deal... the worlds going to end in 2012 anyway....

Nanny state strikes again... *sigh*

Please can we get rid of these ing limousine liberals? Just how much more do Toronto residents need to have thrown at them before they get the message?

It's both hilarious and depressing that the most flattering thing that writer can think of is to say that we're following in the footsteps of Cuba and Venezuela. Retch.

Except for the mercury content of the new bulbs, how is reducing emissions a bad thing? I am not talking about green house gases, but truly reducing the amount of energy each person in Ontario uses.
