what do your screen names mean?

don't mean to make a repost if this is the case, but i see a lot of names on here that interest me and make me wonder what is the meaning behind the name?
andreacky772 is my screen name on aim. the "cky" is for "camp kill yourself" which is a band and a movie series i used to be obsessed with when i was younger. the 772 part... it was suppsoed to be 72 when i had a screen name a long time ago but i turned it to 772...i liked the numbers at the time, lol.

Back in like 2002 i was making as yahoo account and they had this option to make one for you. You type in 3 words and it scrables them and what not so im like i cant think of anything and popped in guns, war, Marines. Back then i was all moto, oooo i wanna be a Marine blah blah blah. Thats what i got right thur stuck with me ever since.

| I first made this screen name for the old Crobar Chicago boards. At that time it was summer & i was always out in the sun. Even if it was a saturday or sunday & i was cracked out, i would just wake up & jump in my pool to catch some rays. So since my name is Jonny & i love the Sun, i came up with jonSun. :p |

When I chose mine, it was because I like PVD and angels and it also relates to PVD and "For An Angel" even though "For An Angel" isn't my fave PVD song. Ironically, it doesn't mean I'm an angel of PVD, although some folk saw this as cute and fangirlish and I used it as that for a while.
Now it just means the first two descriptions. |

| The name of the socialist in Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment", which I was reading when I created the account. Socialism sounded interesting at the time, and I still laugh a bit whenever I think of people trying to read the name out loud. It shall be jokes when it finally makes c0r news. |

In Celtic mythology Taranis was the god of thunder worshipped in Gaul and Britain and mentioned, along with Esus and Toutatis, by the Roman poet Lucan in his epic poem Pharsalia as a Celtic deity to whom sacrificial offerings were made.[1] He was associated, as was the cyclops Brontes (‘thunder’) in Greek mythology, with the wheel and may have received human sacrifices. Many representations of a bearded god with a thunderbolt in one hand and a wheel in the other have been recovered from Gaul, where this deity apparently came to be syncretised with Jupiter.[2] He is likely connected with the Anglo-Saxon god ̃unor, the Norse Thor, Ambisagrus, the Irish Tuireann and the Culdee saint Taran. The name Taranis has not yet been recovered from Gaulish inscriptions, but similar variants have, such as Taranucno-, Taranuo-, and Taraino-.[3]
It's a pretty name tbh, but it was a spur of the moment thing and I couldn't think of anything better. |
