Didn't like any of these. The simplistic/repetitive melodies didn't catch me in any way. Maybe because they reminded me of psy-trance, especially the last one. The first one sounded typical the sound of Pob aka Paul Brogden of Platipus. The middle one sounded like a rip-off of a track i know but i can't find the name in my head now.

If i would label it it should be something like progg psy-trance or similar as Rebel9 said.

Quivver - One Last Time (Quivver's 12" Mix)
Stoneproof - Everything's Not You (Quivver's Space Mix)
Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles (Quivver Remix)
Atlas - Compass Error (Tarrentella:Redanka Remake)
Tilt - Seduction Of Orpheus (Tarrentella vs. Redanka Remix)
Tilt - Children (Tilt's Courtyard Mix)
Bluefish - One (Evolution Mix)
Cabala - Dark Blue (Human Movement's Cobalt Mix)
Breeder - New York FM (Van Bellen Remix)
Bedrock - Heaven Scent (Evolution Main Mix)

Anyone got some other suggestions?

Ace list you got there.. they really don't make trance like this anymore :(

Stage One alone is so ing superior to anything that has come out in the last 4 years. Quivver's a bloody genius.

IMO, the tracks I listed almost exactly define the 'real' progressive trance sound. Your list contains a lot of nice tracks, but they're not really what I'm looking for. Too much 'housey' stuff.

Right, I think I know exactly the tone you are after though. Dark, Grooving, Tonal, Reverberant, almost hopelessly deep. These tracks sound timeless to me, larger than life. A couple of the tracks in that list should definitely fit your bill. The Steve Birch Tracks, Incolumis tracks, Oliver Prime tracks (particularly 'shining'), Oliver Lieb, some Moogwai (viola, the nord song), Patrick Reid - Goose, Paragliders, humate,

in terms of labels you're talking platipus, hooj tunes, j00f deep, superstition, etc but you already knew that I'm sure

thanks for making this topic though. i feel like recording a trance mix again full of stuff like this

I'm really more into the progressive house side of stuff that was released around that time, but I'll give it a shot:

Paris & Sharp - Aphrodite (Tarrentella & Redanka remix)
Element Four - Element four (Grayed out deep house mix)
Andy Ling - Fixation (Tarrentella & Redanka remix)
Tarrentella - Saturn (Tarrentella & Redanka remix)
Accorsi & Bassetti - Until the end

and the daddy of em all:

Decepticons - Deep Underground (Jade's journey through the underworld remix)

As for mix CD's, try

Fade Records presents Audiotour - mixed by Chris Fortier
Jody Wisternoff - Way Out There

When that's too much house and too little trance for you, sorry, that's just the stuff I'm into.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I already have (almost) all of Andy Holt & Chris Bourne's work. All their remixes kick ass..

I haven't heard Decepticons - Deep Underground (Jade's journey through the underworld remix) yet though, I'll check that one out.

Quivver - She Does (Quivver Mix)
