What I did was each time I rand out of space, and too lazy to burn my data on CDs, DVDs, etc... I buy a larger HD. I slave it up, xfer my old HDs to it, and give away my old HDs. A hundred bucks buys a 300gig drive nowadays. |
with taxes and shipping, 100$ only bought me a 250.
I now have two 250s. That'll run out soon no doubt.
I had been living in 'HD space' poverty needing another, larger HD since last summer. Just been avoiding buying a new one.
Had a 120 and a 250.
But I wanna be able to use my 120 for something... Maybe TV shows, I dunno. |

if you're looking to use your hard drive for tv shows then this might be for you, a portable case
that has an s video out-put and comes with a remote, so you can load up your shows plug it to your tv and enjoy.

| online storage is not only easy and efficient, but it's also replicated (backed up) by them, at another site, to address possible disasters. |

What kind of power supply only has 2 goddamn Molex connectors?
And about online backup, not such a great idea when your ISP goes ape if you go over your 60GB monthly "limit." Rogers, I'm looking at you. |

haha i remember a few years ago when i was really into irc and torrents, i was with cogeco and their limit was 15GB...I used to download/upload about 100GB in 1 week and then they would suspend my account..lol BASTARDS!
The ISP i am with now has no limit at all. |

Wouldn't you have to download whatever songs or files, in order to use them again? That doesn't seem very quick at all in the long run. I rather have an external HD and be able to access my files in seconds. |

That is correct. It's primarily a means of backup, rather than storage. |
