Wow, what a diverse group. I just wanted to see where you guys were in your careers. I'm about to graduate from CSUN with a B.S. in Business Administration and I'm exploring all fields. |

I moved to be an instructor for a communications course at the age 25. The pay is great and I love the job. The downside? I left everything i loved: the music, my friends, etc...
I told them i was planning on moving back home twice: they responded by giving me raises each time. It sounds like a good thing, but really its not. Unfortunately I can't seem to let go of the pay.
The place that i teach at is in a remote location in the middle of nowhere. There is nothing to do but go to 1) a country bar 2) a sports bar.
To some that may seem like a great time, but you quickly notice how much it sucks and the only people that pretty much live here that you can hang out with is your co-workers. The same co-workers that you despise in every shape and form. The people that you think you can get along are students, by which you are by no means chance in hell are allowed to hang around with in your off time. The only thing you can say to them if you see them on your off time is "HI" and "Bye" otherwise you get fired.
Moral of the story: DON'T MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE JUST FOR MONEY!
My job got me at a very vulnerable time. Apparently they were looking for me a LONG time. Let me put it this way: The night i graduated they called me and offered me a job. No application has been submitted, no resume been posted on monster or any place like that. I think a job working at McDonalds was harder. No interview or anything like that. Within the first 2 mins of talking to the person they were talking about my salary and benefits. They didn't need to interview me, they already knew everything about me. That was kinda scary...but expected. |
