Just checking to see how many NYC Heads there are here, because im sure we could put together a pretty crazy party if we all met up. Just to let you know me and a few of my friends work at Float Thursdays and Saturdays. I have a guestlist and my 2 roommates work the door, so if anyone is interested in coming by to say hello, let me know :)

yes, Float does play trance. The resident is DJ Serge, resident at Ministry of Sound for 4 years, and it gets packed on saturdays and we just strted thursday nights, but with the same format as saturdays. :)

Never went to Float but I would definately check it out..
wat kinda of crowd hangs out there????

First off i'm glad to see someone who likes the upscale club scene...I have been to float and i can tell u that its a very nice club with quality people, I went to satchi club the other day and although its not huge I liked the music and the crowd was good as well, i live in Mt. Vernon which is 15 minutes away from NYC, I go to the city all the time, I mostly like the lounge/upscale club scene because i used to go to all the other major NYC clubs when i was younger, anyways good to meet u guys/girls/ hopefully we could meet up one day...

| I've been to Saci several times. I went on a sat in the end of Jan & had a SICK TIME! Muzik was really good...I was Drinking Cristal in VIP. Then I went 3 wks ago, the muzik was horrible. Castles in the sky, spente le stelle, I turn to U. Over played commerical Cheese! Crowd is very cliquey there...u only talk to ppl u know or introduced to by friends. & The guys there do not know how to behave. I got wet 3x from ppl's drinks. It's fun if the muzik is good, u get a table w/ ur friends otherwise its not sux & worth $25. I won't go there again even comped. |

My opinion of Saci is very biased, 1) because we ran NYE there this year and i thought the staff and the club as a whole were terrible. Very unprofessional and didnt deliver on any of the promises on the flyer, which usually happens, but they didnt deliver on any. It was open bar all night but the waitresses never came to get our orders in our section, so the service was terrible. 2) the music was commercial cheese, laced with euro-pop, not my thing, so we left at 4 and i havent been back since, even though they are trying to get back into things by taking over cheetah's thursday night, which isnt helping i assume. On the other hand, Float is completely professional. The crowd is better, the service is much better, and the crowd is there for a good time till at least 5 or 6 on the third floor. We just started doing thursdays and saturdays in january, with saturday nights being completely packed by 12:30 - 1. So we are trying to get thursdays going like saturdays. Its the same format as saturdays with the same dj and same trnace/house sounds, so if any of you are interested in coming down let me know :)
Oh by the way Im down for anything in NYC, but since i only have fridays out of Float, i just thought it would be easier to meet there.

| I haven't been to Float yet. But I heard if ur not VIP it sux. Is there really 3 vip rooms? Fridays I'm usually at fridays, depends whose spinning. |

If you are not vip at Float you can still have a good time because most people dance on the first floor anyway which isnt vip. It is true that there are 3 vip rooms. The second floor balcony with tables overlooking the dancefloor, the back hiphop lounge on the second floor, and the 'third floor' are the 3 vip areas. Its very easy usually to get to the second floor if you are a girl and you get there early. The third floor is a different issue, it doesnt open until 2 and its only for the vip of the vip, but its really not that good anyway. Its really hot and crowded up there, with little tv's so you can watch the people on the 1st floor dancing, besides that i stay on the second floor. :)

Well all i can say is...Saci was fun because i was chillin up at the top bar on the couches, i can say one thing it got crowded and was hot and my martinis were horrible, when i went to float i was hanging on the first floor but back at the end on the couches, its was pretty nice and the people were quality...I was about to do China club on thurdays but i'm not sure where my financial backers stand..
