I don't particularly care for M.I.K.E., but I thought this tracklist just looked wrong... Has he been playing house/techno/tech house for a while, or is this something completely new?

The majority of tracks on that cd are ok; but the order is just wrong... he has not enough feeling with it yet. This has been going on for a while now though :)
The awkward thing is, while his trackselection is evolving, his productions are getting worse and worse. He spins rather good music like this; but then he puts atrocities in there like his own Changes R Good  |

| Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, looks like a standard tracklist for him even. I remember 3 or 4 years ago when I was really into his sets, he usually played loads of obscure techy tracks. He always had a bit of an unique style, regardless of whether you think it's good or bad, but he never played the usual mostly epic sets like A&B, Armin, Ferry, etc.. |

I don't think it's as weird as some make it seem. Like said before, he was never like the other big DJ's in the region, most of his radio show segements were exactly like this style although he was producing alot of stuff that didn't reflect his DJing style. I've seen him live twice in the past year and a half. Personally, I think he's a DJ you have to see live to appreciate because it does seem like his track selection is right on with good mixing and always keeps you moving.
my 2 cents, cheers. |

mike was never really a trance dj
its very weird cause hes known for some of the best trance records ever produced he is a legend and hes still going
but his dj style is very diff
but he has been spinnin this way since 03
he wassent as housey or minimal tech since 05 maybe
his dj style is prog house with electro tech elements in it on a trancey tip
its a very unique style
cd looks pretty good i would deff support him |

Don't think the tracklist looks to housey to me?! it's a perfect mix of the better and more mature sound.
really, i know Mike personally well, and yes, maybe he does not want to be called out THE trance epic dj,which is good, but i can't really understand why you all always bash him.
You don't like it,leave it aside and keep going on State of trance sound, which i can dig too sometime, but i think many are to narrow minded here, sorry to say, many of the t.a.z seems to be stuck.
Please,Mike is digging trance for almost 12 years now, many of our board members where only aged 10 or younger when Mike started to produce Push.
Nevertheless, good tracklist, not outstanding, but def worth checking out! |
