Brilliant, thanks for sharing. :)

yeah, really great set. Also the signum live at trance-escape 2005 is of the same quality if not even slightly better depending on your taste.

Ugh I hate it when people make uninformed comments... MIKE's been playing techy/housey tunes for many many years, long before it became trendy. He's one of the only big producer/djs with real integrity, its too bad people dont realize that.

Exactly. M.I.K.E.'s always had a techno/electro influence in his sound. He owns and runs an underground techno label called Scanner Digital - which has put out nothing but a slew of quality recordings since it's resurrection in November '06. It's funny how people are now taking notice when he has been doing this for years - before any of us hopped on the techno bandwagon. I've been trying to push M.I.K.E.'s sound and eclecticism on here for years - but most people just don't pay attention, or care.

His mixing is pristine, as brilliant as Sasha or Digweed, tracks carefully thought out, and is a ing amazing live DJ. I've never been disappointed by one M.I.K.E. performance. And so he made one annoying tune in the last five years, you can't discredit him. But to answer your question, I'd say since July-August of 2005 he started playing prog/electro house/tech-house/techno/tech trance. This is not uncommon at all. Like I said again, he's being doing this for years, people just didn't pay attention and assumed he played the same stuff as his popular productions. He's made everything from techno/tech-house/electro + electro house/prog house + prog trance/RnB/vocal, uplifting, epic trance/tech-trance/gabber/hardcore/chillout/ing everything from blue grass to your mom's favorite swing music. M.I.K.E. simply put - is a musical genius.

M.I.K.E. is also a huge techno/electro/prog fan too... a lot of influences in which you can hear in his productions. He also owns a big IDM collection at home.

Although having already stated that M.I.K.E. always used to play this style, I have to mention that when I saw him 2 years ago in Australia he played a set full of bangin' trance and tech-trance. :D

I'm guessing he just plays his normal style where everyone knows him and "generic" trance where his profile isn't as high.
