Ok, thanks for clarrifying things up. I asked for SF and got a response. SF will NOT be a 6 hour gig TIC/EOL gig. Looks like LA is the whole shabang. In that case - count me in. Not a fan much of the 2-3 hour tiesto gigs, but when he is given longer sets, you hear more of what you want to hear. The setlists have been posted for the 6 hour special EOL gigs and they are pretty good - way better then the normal 3 hour shows.

It is odd how they sell tiesto saying tiesto live exclusive set and what not. How is it an exclusive set if its 3 hours and just tiesto? Isnt that just a normal dj set?

I recommend going to LA's 4-6 hour show (whatever it is) with the full performance than the bill graham one (2-3 hour and no tiesto performers).

I honestly hope there are no performers here in SF. Having performers really hurt his concerts, IMO, since most EDM singers can't sing worth a damn live. They should stay in the studio. :p

My two cents. :)

I'd rather just have good music than vocalist come out who are almost guaranteed to be lousy when hearing them live or see the show stopped to see some aerialist perform.

But that what makes it different. The "extras." Those give and extra WOW factor. I think the person producing it has alot to do with is as well. I remember seeing commercial on cable networks for "concert."

I do agree that the last TIC had a horrible vocalist singing just be. But seeing Jes live hit the spot. (Especially As The Rush Comes)

Live is the best. Especially with the violins and the drummer and vocals - even if the vocals arnt great live. Armin for example with the guy who plays the keyboard is out of the world. and same goes to violins like with ferry and at sensation.

notice how electro music is slowly becoming more live at shows now. Carl Cox said next years ultra will be a live act aswell. Live makes it real - not just studio work.

Fine, instruments are fine. But keep the vocalists away. They are a WOW factor for sure, but more of a "WOW, what a way to up the flow of the event" factor...lol

Well, I think it works like this: Las Vegas has no rules! :tongue3

Saw Tiesto there once at club ICE and he played from 3:30 to a little after 8 a.m.

LA has rules, lots of rules, and even the rules have rules...

I believe that any event held at the Sports Arena is considered a "concert" (same as Cher's beyond farewell tour, Britney Spears, whatever). The rules, as I understood them when researching why TIC-LA was only 4 hours in 2005, were that a "concert" could only be 4 hours in length.

Oh yeah, and Holland definitely has no rules! DJ's like Armin and Tiesto can have 6,8,12 hour sets, the sky seems the limit. Of course, they sell out 30,000 capacity venues with these DJ's in 2 hours or less and usually this happens for 2 nights in a row! If it didn't rain so much, I'd probably move there! :D

If a concert could only be 4 hours length at the sports arena then who's going to cover the other time slots at TIC-LA this year? Don't tell me the party ends at 2am.

TIC-LA in 2005 ended at 2 a.m., that's why the afterparties were so outa control. I'm guessing it will be the same this year also, unless some law changed or something. Checking Giant and Ticketmaster's websites, it only shows "9 p.m." Usually if a show is going to be long, they advertise it.

I doubt that it will go beyond 2 a.m., but you never know...keep in mind that this is out of the DJ or promoter's control, it's city bureaucracy hard at work!

Insomniac throws parties at the SA and those go til 4. Why cant they do it for this?

Who promoted TIC in 05? Was it Tiesto and some sponsor who dont have "pull" with SA like Insomniac does?

Can Insomniac/Giant pull it off to go past 2?

There is another stupid reason why this event shouldn't be named "Tiesto in Concert" because if that law is true, then it will most likely have a 4 hour limit. They should have made it at Avalon.. it was really good there both nights. It might be too late to change it since it says Tiesto in Concert on the ticket when it should have mentioned something about Elements of Life or the new album just like the previous tickets did... for ISOS4, the events said Album Promotion, etc and at Avalon, it said Tiesto presents ISOS 5 Los Angeles North American tour...

DjWoody
That 4 hour law is a lie. There's plenty of concerts at the Sports Arena that last way more than 4 hours. Just last Sunday there was a spanish concert for 5 de Mayo that lasted from 11am til' Midnight. Whoever told you about that law lied.
