I have never considered myself racist, but i am to an extent. After seeing how nice and well raised Bahamian blacks are i realized that it is poor americans who like using the word crunk that i can't stand.Crackers included. |
+1, Im not so much racist as i am social-cist? It's certain social conditions i cant stand on some people |

Listen. There is only so much one can say. Or is there? My main point is this. The first of all things that occur to me is that you're posting this thread to restate, in other words,

Unlike most n00bs that I've noticed, my goal was not to fit in with a particular subset or another of the population, neither to become a member of a so-called clique, but rather to get attention and be acknowledged.
|
And you do it unabashedly, but not altogether. And that's cool. But isn't seeeking attention a kind of approval-seeking, which may very well coincide with cliques? And that's cool too, for I think unless we are hermits (I'm not certain of this, of course), we are all shameless egoists, at least to some degree or other. I should think those who are disinclined to prove themeselves, or support some argument or other, are the less egotistic. And if the latter judge you, I say them. Or, I'm sorry that it is so. And now, for a shameless smiley, :) |

a way to deny me of the attention i most likely seek even with this thread, probably based on the first paragraph. |
I die. So much for not reading beyond the first post. :haha: |

Some people seek approval, and others have it thrust upon them whether they like it or not. :haha:
You know, it just occured to me that I seek disapproval more often than I seek approval. Oh, I'd be lying (poorly, at that) if I claimed to never seek approval, but I do get some perverse delight from certain kinds of disapproval which is just as satisfying. |

if you want to engage in reductionism, there's no call to stop at reducing attention-seeking to approval-seeking - pull it all the way through and you get to pleasure-seeking, which sounds far better. :D
i'm doubtless hermits are just as shamelessly egoistical as the rest of us, perheps even more so when you consider how rarely society imposes shame on them.
those who do not directly seek approval in the ways you mention seek their approval via different means, and thus are not in any inherently superior position to effectively bestow their judgement upon me, or upon anyone for that matter.

i'd venture to say that at our human resource factories (aka schools) both occurances are heavily promoted. :p

ignorance certainly provides its own set of delights, both to the ignoramus, and to the person mocking him. :p |
