I have to say that anyone who supports the World Party, Wet Grooves, or any of their affiliations are contributing to thieves. Over WMC 2007, they paid almost none of the talent at the 5 or more events they produced in Miami. Those of you who paid their overpriced tickets were contributing to their pocketbooks and most of the amazing talent never got paid. This is being taken to court and I wanted to make everyone aware of this. They also do events in Dallas and also trying to do them in San Francisco. If you love the music, please support legit promoters who pay their talent and don't make excuses.
BOTTOM LINE IS THEY DO OK PARTIES, BUT THE TALENT ARE NEVER PAID. SAD PEOPLE WHO ARE DESTROYING THE SCENE. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO CONTACT BACK AND MAKE EXCUSES. OK, I AM DONE WITH MY TANGENT.

Wow that stinks, my friends Gabe and Arthur played during wmc at Wet Grooves...and they never said anything about getting stiffed.
admittedly they mentioned how vip was going to be separated and a certain bar and seating area was going to be set aside for those who paid the extra money..and lied.
myself and a friend paid for the tix (totalling 130 bux combined) and they basically took it as regular admission, citing that they closed down half the club because it wasnt doign the business it thought it would do.
so they crammed who was left into one of the areas and i basically got to see christopher lawrence, svd, above and beyond, and andy moor in a room filled with a bunch of sweaty meatheads trying to knock down the flaked up dancers in bikinis dancing on the bars.
i thoght that was pretty f***ed up considering that they didnt even offer an explanation or half of my money back seeing as how i paid double with the normal people did and got the same crap.

It's because they don't give a about the clubber. They overcharge and everyone gets screwed in the process(DJ/Clubber/Venue/Etc). Sad but true. Sorry you went through that. Don't go next year, if they are still going to do another party. Doubt they will be able to get enough talent at this point. They owe too much money to everyone. So many legit parties that are worth the money and those are the ones I will be attending. Never ever Wetgrooves again. Scammers. |

... Just spoke with Arthur and Gabe of Basic Perspective and they did get shafted too :(
