Damn, I would've gladly taken your old job. Been looking for work for the last 4 months and found nothing. :/

ing customers

also, being laid back != being a jerk off. There are dick employees as well as dick customers. Customer has a question, I have an answer. Where is this? how much is that? Is the playstation 4 better than 2 playstation 3s? ok cool. have a nice day man.

Now, a customer wants me to poke his finger in my chest about why something is out of stock, no. no no no, get the outta here. He wants to be a dick, yeah, I'll sell you that "GPS unit reserved" paperslip, then you can complain to customer service about getting a refund because i didn't yell in the customer's face that "HEY DOUCHE WE ARE OUT OF STOCK. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW" (Black Friday)

Of course, there is the human rights issue. Every customer deserves to be treated as a human. I walk my dog around the block because if i let him walk himself, he'd get lost or DIE. I can give the dog a map and lecture him about the best route for his walk, teach him and looking both ways before crossing the street, etc, but he isn't capable of that. That's why I don't walk a fully capable human customer to his aisle after i give him the specific instructions to his item. Not to mention the fact that i was (for the most part) the only cashier. "yo, aisle 4 is in between 3 and 5. look for the 4 at the top of the aisle. It will also say Hard Drives, which is what you are looking for."

"can you walk me there?" no, but see those guys over there? they can help you. "why can't you help me?" beacuse i'm a cashier, this is checkout, and this guy in line would like to buy this. that over there is the salesfloor, those people are salesmen, and that is aisle 4.

no, i never ask for help at a retail store (other than to get things from behind jewel cases) and have never gotten lost at Costco (or been run over while trying to cross the street)

there's a reason why people hate going to retail joints, as well as why people hate working retail. it's a haven for douches and circle douchery.

i went to bed and I just came back from work a couple of moments ago.

on a side note, I should have mentioned that 'corey' literally screamed at us in front of customers. he'd always call us to 'critique' our so-called sloppyness (and I can assure you we did keep that store nice and tidy--it's not really a hard job) and would always end up cussing us out.

He even made one of our co-workers (jessica) pissed off to the point where she cried and left the store.

Why didn't I say all this at first? Because, the cor doesn't like long paragraphs. :toothless

I dunno man, if you guys were, as you stated, goofing off and ing around at work, maybe he had a good reason to give you all a good bollocking.

Consider things from his perspective. Nobody wants employees like you guys.

I'm sorry, have I missed something? If you're not going to commit to doing the job well, don't apply for it.

Consider this... at least kids have an opportunity to stand around and do all in a video store and get PAID for it.

Whilst at the same time somewhere else in the world a mother has to carry a heavy bag of rice for kilometers up and down dirt tracks and steep hills barefoot in order to make a measly few cents to feed her starving children.

Get some perspective please.

that's the thing, actually. it's not like we did anything extreme to piss him off so dearly. nobody wants employees who have fun at work while performing at what's expected? like i said, the district manager said anything about it because corey never, ever mentioned him in any of our talks. i think he would have warned us about him if our performance was so low, i'm guessing. he just became bitter for some reason

anyways, that's all there is to it. i suppose i'll learn the 'hard' way some day.
