So tempted to put an apprentice pic here.... but not a funny situtaion so gonna leave it.
Since you can argue you misused it I personally would try to play the cell phone as a privilege then say something like "I understand I abused this privilege, and would hope that the removal of this privilege would along with my deepest apologies for the mistaken misuse warrent enough punishment. And that I would be able to continue working for you."
Dunno the context in which the mobile was given to you though. |

I have to admit that it's kinda unfair that they fired you on such a minor thing but life is unfair.
