I can't wait for this movie but they are going to ruin it by having some stupid love story in it....why does there always have to be a stupid love story in movies.

I'm definitely looking forward to this flic; looks like they gave the transformers a hard(er) edge, and I'm stoked to see what they do with it. I'm continually amazed at how critical people are with movies. It's like they are looking for some sort of spiritual revelation or ultra-wow-dom every time they watch an action flic, instead of being merely entertained. I found all those michael bay flics entertaining...The Rock, Armageddon; lots of cheese, but definitely entertaining and funny; perhaps it takes a certain humour to enjoy that kind of movie. I think the russian dude in Armegeddon was my favourite character... And Porky, I'm really surprised you don't see similar styles of story telling between the films you slammed in a sideways way, and many anime series that act upon the same sort of humour principles. That being said, if anyone enjoyed the movie 'punch drunk love'...you should be shot.
Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, can't wait to see this movie. Looks like it will be very entertaining!

pearl harbor has got to be one of the worst movies i've ever seen. and the rest of michael bay's movies are big on action and thin on plot, character exposition, depth. armageddon was ok, but only something i'd watch once. i dunno, michael bay's movies are like disposable happy meals. cheap and temporarily filling, but definitely not food for thought.
but cmon man, comparing Armageddon/PearlHarbor with Evangelion? even you must attest to the comparison. it's not even comparing apples and oranges, it's more like comparing tropicana (evangelion) to orange colored koolaid (michael bay's gargage).
there's filler in every genre, which even anime is subject to (i watch alot of filler to find the diamonds in the rough). :)

Bring on the Dinobots vs. the Constructicons. Wouldn't have to change a thing.

No arguments here--i certainly wouldn't be comparing armegeddon to evangelion; i was thinking some of the other shojou anime series i have seen; similar light hearted ultra-unrealistic scenarios, intended for comic relief. I'll certainly give you that point. However, I'd say there is a good attempt, and even some success at character development in his flics. Pearl Harbour...well...i'm there with you on that one...that one attempted to be epic without...well, without anything to be epic about except what it was attempting to portray..
Ok, enough off topic-ness....now back to waiting for the fourth of july! ;)

michael bay has made nothing but crap. his directing style is poor as he literally believes that an edit every second is the best way to make a film. i dont think its possible to physically count the number of cuts and explosions in his films within one human lifetime. the guy cant even make a decent movie with the insane budget he gets to work with. his movies, albiet entertaining on some level are the equivalent to an empty orgasm: completely unsatisfying, equally frustrating and definitely not worth the effort. the guy needs to either expand on his predictable, unvaried style of filmmaking (although, I cant imagine him having the balls or the talent to do so) or just stop wasting good money and go away. Without this assload of money invested in his movies, bay cant do . his inability to improvise, his lack of creativity, and his need for a big budget (because he's too incompentant to come up with something impressive with less funding) makes him the most pointless and deficient person in film business.
