| I don't know why more DJs don't do bus tours...perhaps they don't have the same number of gigs like Carl did...but with air travel in the states being as ridiculous as it is, and the money invested in a DJ's equipment and records, it's a huge gamble every time you get on a flight. |

| My friend was in charge of the bookings for Home Nightclub in Australia. He has an annual budget, and couldn't justify over 100K for 1 night. |

I'm pretty sure you can carry on your CDs or laptop |

I'm pretty sure not everyone plays with CDs and a laptop. |

6-8 months ago Tiesto's booking charge was $100,000 :eyespop: |
When Tiesto was at Dragon Fly my buddy and I were talking to some of the management at Dragon Fly and they confirmed the cost to get Tiesto was $100,000.00 plus hotel room at the Casino plus all the food and alcohol was free.
To me that just seems like a lot of money to pay someone to spin records but then again.....Roger Clemens is getting paid bassically $1 million for each start he will have with the Yankees this year |

Thought I'd post this here - when Katie and I were down at the hotel for FREEDOM, one of the DJs we saw in the lobby were Manzone & Strong. I understand Guv buying a hotel room for the DJs that are coming from out of town, but M&S are local DJs, so it seemed kinda weird. |
Which hotel was it? Charles has part ownership of a hotel. But in Manzone and Strong's case, they had like 4 bookings in a 24 hour span, so they got a hotel because it was downtown (they live in the suburbs) and commuting all those times wouldn't make sense.
Tiesto usually gets a huge cut of the door in lieu of payment, so it's easy for him to make $100,000.00 in a night. |

Ink no longer has a stake in the pantages.
They now use the King Edward for talent. |

use some common sense here guys.... how could they have paid $100k to get Tiesto at DragonFly
say it was $50 to get in, and there were 1000 peopel there..... thats only 50,000...... it may cost $100k to get him to come to some huge festival like Creamfields or whatever but no club can afford to pay a DJ that much..... i think 35K sounds a lot mroe reasonable |

def can make sense. you can lose out one night and make it up easily on other nights. by bringing tiesto to dragonfly, youre showing that the club is a worthy place to visit if youre say from out of town. also, alcohol sales/other drinks have huge markup, so you can make quite a bit |

yeah bringing tiesto could definitely be a good marketing scheme for a club, bring attention to it for sure!
and yeah drinks are marked up but that has to pay for staff and other costs.... plus the owner wants to put some money into his own pocket....
doubt it cost them 100k but they probably didnt make too much money |
