I love it when people think they know what their talking about when they really have no idea how things work!
re: management at dragonfly telling people how much tiesto made. i really can't see the manager being dumb enough to risk his job by talking about company financials with some club kids. :rolleyes: |

| I was gettin 200 a night for about 6 months on Fridays. Mainstream crowd though with a ty Sound System so that didn't last. |

This doesn't happen as much as you might like to think...not to the tune of 100K for a DJ, anyways. To potentially lose that kind of money in a single night is a huge risk and one that's probably not taken too often around here. |

yeah, AVB was somehow booked at a club here in Ottawa that holds maximum 480 ppl, but keep in mind tix were $60 and it was on a Wednesday too.
Doing the math, tickets alone would have accounted for $29K worth of revenue, then there's drink sales too. It being a Wednesday was probably the only way Club Heaven could book him.. an effective way to market the still burgeoning club even more (if the booking was within the dollar range above), imo. |

| 100K is very unrealistic, for a small venue no matter how people view it as a popularity benefit to the bar. what people havent factored in as well is the cut or % there managers/booking agency's make. I would think this fee would come out of the 35-50k tiesto is making(depending on night/venue/set hours of course) in my opinion. and i do agree that management would not disclose real financials to random people, but i beleive they imbelish the figure to make the bar/promoters look good. |

good point
thats probably why they threw the ridiculous number of 100k out....
dj fee definitely has to do with the size of the club/event
ie. tiesto would get a lot more money to play at labour of love than he would get to play at dragonfly....
i wonder how much tiesto was paid for NYE at resolution.... now that could easily be around the 100k mark..... at least i think hahaha... i really dont know what i'm talking about |
