British Hip Hop - Yay or Nay?

I'll begin by saying I'm really not familiar with a ton of British hip hop - just people like Dizzie Rascal, Lady Sov, The Streets, and a few others who've had a bit of success on this side of the pond.
I've got to say, based on those three - I'm really left wondering. Specifically, I just don't understand the popularity of The Streets and Dizzie Rascal, their production is just ok (though sometimes profoundly irritating), and I really, really can't stand the way either of them deliver their lyrics.
So - anyone have any opposing opinions/better UK hip hoppers to point me to? Thoughts on hip hop coming out of the UK?

"Fit but you know it" was a funny song though - just more like "Weird Al" funny, not "Clever Hip Hop" funny. |

| lady sov and her ilk are straight gahbage. the popularity of minstrel goons like Tim Westwood (although in fairness, an enterprising brit did attempt to put him out of his misery) -- speak volumes about mainstream hiphop in england. come to think of it, it's pretty much the same here. |

| I really dislike Lady Sov and Dizzee Rascal, but The Streets are ok. Roots Manuva and Tricky for the win. |
