ive been thinking about getting a tattoo on my lower arms (right under my ellbow),

be careful about this, especially if you dont have any tats yet...

it might be a good place to get done, but keep in mind that you may very well be screwing over any chance of getting a large range of jobs by having tattoos there that aren't so easy to cover up. i mean, i love my biomechanical tats, but they are on my back, or upper legs... both places that are easily covered up... unlike arms

so yea. they are great, but maybe not worth risking ruining your chance of getting a lot of jobs for the rest of your life.

i honestly admire ppl with lots but not too many piercings, you really have to know where to stop and where to place them so that things dont look too overcrowded

yer opinions?

i know some ppl dont really like pierced nipples, even my bf doesnt think mines all that great, he never says it but i can tell hehe
personally, i like having a pierced nipple, not sure why. i guess its just one of those things that you have and like but dont know why.
not really much of advice to give if you're gonna get yours pierced. those things take about 3 mths to heal, it hurts like hell when they pierce it :D but its the good kinda pain (at least i thought so) and it gives you this awesome adrelanice rush, but thats about it.

everyone will prolly say this, but i'll say it anyways, make sure you go to a reputable place, not just some shady weird shop somewhere in a weird part of downtown

good luck!!

btw, girls have it easier when it comes to piercing nipples. we have bras so when the piercing was done recently, the bra holds it in place and it doesnt hurt as much or at all, guys usually dont wear bras ==> their piercings rub on their shirts and that kinda hurts ;)

as i tell people, piercings should be an accent, not a feature.

when it gets to a point where people have 2-3 on every area where it can be done, thats just grossly unattractive to me. too many, i dunno.. to me thats a lot worse than having none at all. i dont think the number really dictates it tho (you could have 15 piercings, tho all spread out across the body)... i think its more an issue of where they are. if you have 15, and they are all on your face, now i think thats just incredibly ugly. whereas if you have 3 on your face, 5 across your body and some in your ears.. that fits with my accent statement.

oh yeah, definately
i see some ppl walking around with metal hanging off pretty much any pierceable part of their head (face, ears, neck, everything), and who knows where else and how else they've got the rest of their body pierced
piercings cant be just placed anywhere, they have to be placed in the right way

i'm clean of this stuff and i'm not going to do anything about it

i know... that the only thing that stopped me from piercing my upper ear, i can take my current earring out easilly, but a piercing in ur upper ear doesnt come out that easy...

covering up a tattoo on my lower arms = a matter of not rolling up ur sleeves to high really... so not a real big problem...

a tattoo in my neck would be frikkin awesome as well, but i better not try that, concerning work AND social life :)

well... i dunno about where you live, but i really, really wouldnt consider an upper ear piercing to be bad for a job at all. ear piercings i had come to think were incredibly acceptable and tolerated... hell, i just got hired again for an internship at microsoft for the summer, and i have two huge bars through the top of my ears (industrials).

but the arm tat, it really is a big deal even if you think it isnt.. sure, maybe you can not roll up your sleeves, but do you want to deal with that for the rest of your life? what if its a hot day, in the summer.. and you cant to wear a short sleeved shirt.. and you cant any day at work because of your tattoo there.. im not saying dont get it, but if you are really set on your arms, if ANYTHING id say at least do upper arm.. which can always be covered up by the top of your shirt.. it might seem like its easy to get around now but its permanent, and at least for me getting a job i want is more important :/

one of my collegues has one on his lower arm, and the first time i saw it was at a footy tournament...

and to illustrate how tight they r at the stores ive worked in (im a salesman): i always have to take out my normal earring...

subdermal (under the skin) and transdermal (partly below and above the skin) are a new type of modification that is not so common.. basically a piece of teflon or (far better) silicon jewelry is cast into a shape and put in between the layers of skin. some people still use metal jewelry but silicon is much better for long term degradation of tissue.

but yea, there is nothing specifically they "do". i will be getting two ridges in each arm, just because im so obsessed with being a cyborg and i like how they aesthetically would contribute to that along with my tats.

Right now I have SS (Stainless Steel) under my skin. It took a while for me to get use to them. You know, Having a piece of medal stuck under and sticking out of your skin. My friend has pictures of it. I will be getting them sometime this week, So I will definatly scan them. Some advice: Before you get anything done to your body. Be sure the guy knows what hes doing. Be sure he has a steady hand. And be sure that he does everything properly. And it is ok to reuse needles. Their are machines that kill anything and everything. People say "If they reuse needles you can get aids." This is totally false if they have been sterilized in the proper ways. If you have had surgery, I guarentee every instrument they used on you was used on 5 people before you and is still used on people now. Do you have aids or any any other blood borne pathogen? No. So this is totally false. And be sure to see some of his\her past artwork. I prefer girls more then guys when doing anthing to my body. And this is because they arent as strong (Not to be sexist!) And they are more gentle on it. :p ;) :) :D

im surprised you have stainless steel... since its so heavy. i wouldnt even get teflon (which is still better than steel) because silicon is so much better for long term degradation

as far as goin to someone who knows what they are doing with implants, im sure youve heard of steve haworth (only the best person in the country to get em from!).. im getting them from his apprentice who moved up here to seattle, so im not worried :p

i dunno tho. id be worried if i was you about your jewelry choice.
