Projectors? yay or nay

so i need a new tv for my basement and i think i got a killer wall for a projector, im wondering if its worth buying one of the cheaper models ( around 600 canadian) instead of a normal tv
anyone know anything about tvs/projectors im completely clueless with this stuff |

TV's > projector
Athough they are nice to have laying around, but I'd still buy a TV first. |

the stuff that sucks about a projector is the power up time, its not instant as with a tv takes about a min to power up. other than that I like my projector.
Although I only use it to watch dvd's |

If you want to create a genuine cinema, you're going to need to spend at least £17k on a projector.
If not, Epson TW2000 or Optoma projectors are good. Just make sure they have a big max' resolution and as a high a contrast ratio as possible, and at least 2000 lumens.
Whatever you do, don't go on the cheap with a projector... |

| LCD > Plasma (200ms lag time, how do you play games on that ?) > projectors > regular TVs |
