Do you name your plants? (pg. 2)

I've had this huge spider plant since fifth grade (10 years now). I haven't named her yet, but I am somewhat attached to it, despite it being the ugliest thing ever. Ugly plants need love too.

Haha I like how you called your plant a "her". It's weird how we attach personal pro-nouns to things that aren't either male or female.

You should name her.

Yeah it's kinda weird. I don't attach genders to any of my other plants, but seeing as this one keeps generating babies at an alarming rate I thought it seemed appropriate. :p

What makes one an idiot for assigning a name to a living entity?

We name pets - they are alive
We name people - they are alive
Why not name a plant?

Hell, people name their own body parts. Or their cars. etc. etc.

I don't think it is unreasonable to name a plant.

I have heaps of plants out on my deck

And a Basil plant in my office, which rocks because it smells really nice all day :)

I don't name any of them though, I never really thought to :conf:

Wow, you have a really nice deck. The decorator in your house does a nice job :)

Yeah, I love it out there, it's extremely relaxing. But the possums ate all my herbs, so that's why I have a Basil plant in my office :p
