Do you name your plants? (pg. 4)

Not big enough to be trained over anything, it's got a good bit of height of around 40-50cm, but not doing what they usually do and start to grow down like I want it so I can throw it in the bathroom hanging over the shower.
The Calathea is going nuts though and that was the one I was expecting to be a bit slower, mines a really nice one with under the leaves purple, the top are light-green and dark green pattern so it's very pretty.
My Pteris fern I was expecting to be a bit tougher, but it's not a happy camper at the moment. :(
Mind you I only paid half price for the ferns as they where ratty to begin with so it's not a great loss, just sort of hoping they'd bounce back. |

| Naming plants is only bad if you suck at keeping them alive and they die. Talking to them is good to because you release the CO2 that they need. |

| i named my bonzai tree Chinar. he's gonna be with me for a long time, so a name he shall have. i wouldn't name any other generic plant that i'm gonna look after poorly. Chinar, however, gets my full attention. |

Set up a T-bar at the top of it's climbing stick so it can grow out and then down.

Haha, that's about the only one of mine that looks like crap. It sounds like I have the same kind as you. I've pretty much given up on that one :(

When my ferns die I usually just snip them way back, to the point of have zero limbs, just a sort of bunch thing at the bottom. This can result in one of two possibilities though:
1: Yay! It's growing back, and looks great!
2: It never grows back. Ever :haha: |

Yes, they're new growth coming through so I torched all the ferns with my lighter to get rid of the dead and dry bits to encourage them to be vigorous (well heck, a torch under anyones arse encourages something to happen...) :nervous:
My one day mum in law/boss (double barrel in the face) only useful contribution to my life at the moment which might be useful... aside from that she makes me cry. A lot :(  |
