Just my opinion on Ibiza..
Minuses:
- It's an insanely overpriced tourist trap that groups a sketchy bunch of people from different backgrounds.
-There is no sense of community as the mainland spaniards can't stand the brits, and vice versa; these are the two main groups of party-goers that frequent the island. The end result being a weird anemosity amongst the crowds at clubs.
-The coke is absolutely putrid and not worth buying .
-Cover at a club is usually the price of a nice pair of sneakers.
-A vodka red bull is about 24$ canadian.
-There is no way the week will run you less than 4G's. I spent 6 and had nothing to show for it other than a bad twitch and cold sweats. The memories were ok but sure as hell don't rival the ones from the many way better parties I've been to here in mtl.
Pluses:
-So many big parties you're bound to find a DJ you love.
-Spanish women are insanely beautiful;
-The pills are ok and surprisingly cheap
-Beautiful Sunset @ San Antonio, probably one of the nicest in the world
-The spaniards are uber-cool, but you'll only know this if you speak espanol!
Lastly, if you're going to spend that kind of money on a trip I suggest you go elsewhere; you'll get way more bang for your buck and have more fun in doing so. Going to Ibiza isn't really ''Travelling''. It's going on a bender on an island in the sun. Seeing your favorite DJ at Stereo blows away any party at the commercial electronica buffet they call Ibiza; but that is just my opinion.
Cheers! |

I think RealJazz went to a different Ibiza than I did, or at least avoided the good spots.
There are loads of Italians, French, Germans, Argentinians and other nationalities that go to Ibiza. It really depends on which club you go to. DC10 was very heavily Italian when I went, Space was pretty British. Amnesia was pretty Spanish and my hotel was pretty German. Pacha was a mix of everyone but mainly European. I never saw any animosity between the groups, though I did see two or three fights *outside* clubs when I went in September, in a 5-day period.
"There is no way the week will run you less than 4G's."
Absolute fantasy. I went and probably only spent 700 total in 5 days. Granted I was staying in a cheap hotel in Ibiza Town, cooking for myself (some people don't eat the entire trip...) and catching buses instead of taxis. And very little in the way of drugs. But I was going to clubs most nights. Pick up discount flyers to the clubs or just avoid the peak season (July and August - when the vibe is crap and it's too hot anyways) and you'll be fine.
Sunday at Space (this was back in 2003) is the only place where I've ever felt surrounded by people who absolutely loved house music and were willing to travel the world to hear the best. Stereo is great (or at least it was) but can't compete in that area.
San Antonio is a classic hole - avoid unless you're 18 years old and British. |

That, or we share a different opinion on the subject.

Obviously, Ibiza has visitors from all over Europe. But, the majority is spanish and/or british.

You're obviously excluding airfare, which is no less than a G.
Let's see:
Partying:
-Club cover - 100 Euros
-8 or so drinks and some Drugs (always optional) - 150 Euros
that's 250 Euros. Repeat X 5 nights = 1250 Euros
Sleeping:
`
Let's say 200 Euros if you're sharing accomodations
Eating:
50 Euros per day X 7 days = 350 Euros
That's a total of 1900 Euros.. 1900 X 1.5 = 2850 CDN
+ airfare of at least 1000 return = 3850 CDN.
I'm sure there's a ton of costs i've left out, so I can't 4 G's being 'absolute fantasy'.

No Mr. Worldly! It's a well known fact that San Antonio is brutal, but it is nevertheless the best place to catch the sunset seeing as how it is on the west coast. |

your calculations are too high
i went for a week, spent about 1G, maybe less... went out every night
You dont have to go to Pacha every night lol
Lots of places have ~15 euro covers
I got into Steve Lawler at Space for free
Tiesto 5x is gonna cost you 100 euros each time yes... |

| You only pay 100 euro cover if you're a retard and pay at the door. Pacha only ever cost me 35 euro |

Seconded. There's really no need to pay more than half that, and often the best clubs are 30euros or less. I saw Magda open for Mr C for free when I was there.

150 Euros per night for drink and drugs. Riiiiiight.
Sure it is possible to spend 4k, but, honestly, you have to spend money like it's Brewsters Millions to do that. |

for 70 euros you get 6 pills wrapped in foil like lifesavers, 2 vodka redbulls, a shot and a ticket to pacha for sasha and hernan.
Anyone who pays 100euros to just get in is a moron. |

there seems to be mixed reviews on the pills from the people that i have spoken to.. how are they in comparison to the pills that we get here in canada..??
the fact that they are cheap and you can get six of them at once tells me they arent the greatest in the world.. |
