how Danny Tenaglia feels... (pg. 3)

All very apparent points, and honestly no real insight from somebody who should have an inside view of this world.

PS - what ever happened to commas, periods, and paragraphs?

(I am not disputing these points, and I completely agree)

Don't forget DT writing in capitals. Definitely means he's yelling at us!;)

Here's some more bitchiess from Danny.:D

[QUOTE=dt :);194997]Dear Friends,

I feel that all of you know by now that I am an easily approachable person.
I continually give out my e-mail address if any of you have any questions regarding a track I played, comments or suggestions, etc. etc. etc.
- [email protected]

But why do some people feel they have a right to publicly broadcast ME? -

It's truly unfair and extremely disrespectful to me, and any artist or person!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK ME FIRST! And I wish people would! -
I think most of the time I would not mind, but there are some times that I get extremely upset because there are certain moments that were simply -
NOT meant to BE recorded!!

If people were unable to attend some events, then this is unfortunate. BUT -
The essence of what I am portraying CANNOT be captured on a distorted image and it GREATLY DIMINISHES what many of us that were there experiencing LIVE
as part of a magical and musical journey.

I know that there are many other Non Members and I will write a post for the MySpace page as well, but there are some of you here also that are doing this to me without asking my permission first.

So, I beg of you! PLEASE Allow me the first option to see any Video Images
that you may have taken at one of my events because I feel I have the right to decide if I (or my event) should be You Tubed, or Not? Don't you agree?

Place yourself in my shoes? Would you want to feel like you were under a microscope? How would you like it if I You Tubed You? -

Last thing is, many songs I play are special and dear to my heart.
If any of you want to know the name of a song, just ask me!
In most top DJ's contracts today, one of the first things on the list is:
NO RECORDING WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE ARTIST! Audio or Video!

This is where Bootlegs come from and almost all of us have been victims of this at one time or another (many several) and we have been LIED TO and promised (and agreed in contracts) .... yet, many still snuck a recording from either the amp room or a lightman's station, DJ booth #2 . . Whatever ......

I was recently recorded at the Monegros festival and I agreed to the first 10 minutes. They recorded more than one hour and played it on the radio in Spain! Could I sue? YES! Is it worth my time, money, and all my good energy being spent on such nonsense - NO! But I feel something needs to BE done soon amongst all of us DJ's soon to make a
STRONG STATEMENT together to say: PLEASE STOP DISRESPECTING US!

* OR AT LEAST ALLOW US TO VIEW IT FIRST ?????????

Sooooooo, there you have it. Now that I am done with that -

Back to the Love & Bliss from all of last weeks events. - :yippee:

I will write a wonderful thread later on each event titled:
"MORE THAN A CONFERENCE" -

Ciao & Grazie,
:bighug:

the music is not "underground" anymore, less and less people come to parties just for the music like it used to be, its either to eat candies or to to get drunk as with friends at their vip tables (especially in miami)..

This is the smartest thing posted in this thread.

I just wanted to point out that you're wrong.

I've been regularily attending and promoting events in this "scene" for 12 years now. It was more mainstream 1998-2000.

we had at least one or two events a month that pulled between 8,000-15,000 people. We had numerous afterhours clubs. We had mainstream radio going live to air from 7,000 person events. even the afternoon drive was stations like energy 107 was filled with house, techno and trance. there were also dedicated shows like the dr trance show and flipside's tripping on energy. plus we had 2 stations that went all night playing our kind of music. we had massive sponsored events from B&H, Smirnoff, Heineken, Nokia among others. We had much music playing videos of our music. mtv had a show dedicated to it. We had local magazines with monthly circulations of tens of thousands of copies.

all of that's gone now.

all of that's gone. now there's just a handful of clubs, a little radio play and ty ass bpm TV
