Brits Boycott Israeli Universites

Pretty sick if you ask me - regardless of your political allignments and opinions on palestinian conflict, why the hell start boycotting people who are just trying to learn?
This isn't a quetion about anti isarelism or anti zionism its a question of anti-semitism.
These british unions have been denying isareli noble lauretes to come and speak and their universites.
A growing backlash has been growing and the petition link is http://www.petitiononline.com/stopucu/petition.html
Blah, who thought the arab/israeli conflict would trump academic freedom

Bull. I have more semitic blood than any Jew I know, including my girlfriend. Ashkhenazi aren't even semitic to begin with, most Sephardic Jews who ARE semitic were killed during the holocaust. Arabs are semites btw, just in case you didn't know that. |

what's your point...
anti zionism is against a political movement and I'm stating that this boycott is against an ethic group thus i use the term anti-semitism. (a semite is an umbrella term and in this case I am specifically referring to jews) |

Which makes the usage of the term "anti-semitism" favouring one semitic group exculsively racist to begin with, and that it isn't anti-semitism at all. Unless someone hates all Arabs and [semitic] Jews, they couldn't possibly be "anti-semitic." |

That's my point exactly, it's a bull term to begin with along with it's usage to end criticism of Israel and Zionism. I never heard of a black/hispanic guy complaining about "anti-blackism/hispanicism," everyone else just uses one word, "racism." |

How so? Every group has been persecuted and suffered racism/prejudice. Why are Jews so damn special? Stalin killed far more people than Hitler, how come they aren't mentioned when people talk about the Holocaust? Hitler didn't only kill Jews btw, he was a ing crazy Aryan supremacist who wasn't even Aryan himself, which makes it all the more ironic. |
