oh yea ur right...ok nevermind that was for the flu.

Oh it's Zithromax?? Can't believe I've never heard it called that before.

Basically, antibiotics fight different "bugs" than what viruses are composed of...so to take them for any viral infection is pretty useless.

And yes, antibiotics should always be the last resort!! Not only does your body build tolerance, but they're brutal on your stomach and digestive system!

yea im very prone to sinus infections though and i get them whenever any sort of "bug" goes around. isn't that weird? like if my mom just gets a little cold and then i get it, it goes straight to my nose and becomes an infection. why is that?

Well that's different (and not weird at all), a sinus infection is typically caused by bacteria. You have these things called resident flora living inside your nose and in your sinuses, and when a "bug" goes around and stuffs you up, those resident flora get pushed farther back into your upper respiratory tract...and instead of doing their job, they make you sick.

There you have it!

LOL! Probably. I would imagine that because of your allergies you tend to get congested more easily, yes? Or your nose is always runny? Either way, it creates conditions that get those resident flora in the position to do more harm than good.

And I would also imagine the whole snorting coke process does the same thing. :p

Yes I use vitamin C, and yes it helps. It gives a boost to the immune system and helps to fight it off. Echinacea has the same effects.

Vitamin C does very little if anything at all.

It doesn't CURE colds, no. But it DOES help in the production of white blood cells, which in turn boosts the immune system, which in turn helps to fight it off.
