Traktor Issue
View this Thread in Original format

I have been using Traktor 3 with my dxm06. The beatmatching is never spot on. I thought it was just me, so I used the sync button. Even when I sync them, i can still tell there are 2 beats instead of just one.

Anyone ever have this issue? Or could it be my computer? I got it hooked up to my old computer (1Ghz, 768MB Ram)

ah ...I just tried it on this computer and it works perfectly..

it must be my other computer...DAMN IT!:whip:

EDIT: I just checked the minimum specs, and those are good enough..hmmm I am soo confused as to what the problem could be

ANYONE????

Compared to Both Traktor 3 vs Torq I think Torq beatmatches way better. IMO

I have been using Traktor 3 for a while now and have had this problem too. I increased my latency settings and it made some difference. I still find that pressing sync matches the beats perfectly but then they tend to move out of sync a few bars later so i have to press sync again. if i do this before the beats move out of sync to the extent that its really obvious then its not a problem. sometimes when i press sync it skips a beat and although the beats are matched its not in line with the track playing.

As of yet i havent been able to find out why this is the case. One of my friends told me that his version of traktor the sync button stays highlighted once he triggers it, whereas mine doesnt, unless i hold the mouse down on it.

why would you use the autosync anyway/ ive been doing it by ear and everyhting seems to be fine, i might have to pitch bend a bit but who doesnt eh? ive been able to hold long mixes with ease so i think its all in the hardware specs

i use a Phillips Aurilium2 PSC805 USB interface/soundcard/

First thing you need is legal tracks or at least not vinyl rips. Not for legal reasons, though, but because they are direct digital files from the masters. Why is that important? Even the best turntable doesn't have 100% same speed all the time, in some sections it slows a bit, for example. For djing that's no problem, because these are really insignificant changes, but when you rip a track and then want to analyze it in traktor, the program looks at 100% of the recording and those miniature changes up its syncing system. Ever had tempo detected @ 137.692? Nuff said.
When you have the "good" mp3's, you need to tell the program where to look for beats. It's auto-detection is pretty good, but it's not perfect. You have to set beatmarkers. Make a key shortcut for "set beatmarker", change into cd mode and browse just until the kick starts, and press the beatmark key. Then skip somewhere to the end of the track, and if the beatgrid is perfectly aligned, you've done it, otherwise adjust the track tempo by a .001 or two, it does the trick.

i use the sync button to get close then fine tune with the pitch controls the same way i would with real turntables. works for me

OP: Update ASIO drivers?
