My life completely changed.. I used to out every single weekend, but gave it up for marathon running. It sucks sometimes.. I missed Armin at the Tobacco Warehouse for a weekend of running half marathons, but it was worth it because I set a new personal record. Sometimes I miss going out, but I love my life and it makes the times I do get to go out much more fun! |
That's such a great achievement! :). U should def be proud of urself for that. Its so amazing how a simple change in routine or a conscious decision can affect ur mentality so radically in the longterm, whatever ur passions in life.
I am working toward that...living actively...I do now but I know I could do so much more. and I know I can eventually get there. :) |

| My love for the music has always superceded the need for "enhancers" - very rarely (if ever) did I ever feel I had to drink or take anything during a house/minimal/electro OR at any parties done by locals <--ill attribute that to the *special* vibe u guys create <3. I'm sure we all so appreciate that, keep up the fabulous work!!!! :D |

Yup! I used to be in toronto Thurs-Sun with my boyfriend and went OUT Thurs-Sun afternoon! Then took the ferry back to Rochester still awake LOL
I used to literally get butterflies when I went out, and couldnt remember ONE night that I came home saying "meh."
Ever since I moved to NYC, the excitement tends not to be there, and I definately dont get the same satisfaction out of partying like I used to. The scene is def not the same here at ALL, BUT nyc is way better, imo, in many other forms of entertainment besides clubbing..... and thus I have had so much fun trying out new things that I wasnt able to do before besides partying. So even tho I have been utterly dissapointed in thge scene here, I have exchanged it for other fun things that are just as satisfying.
also, being in grad school with a job/internship/class/homework makes it a lot tougher to go out 3-4 days a week. :whip: :whip: |

| Getting old ain't no excuse people. I didn't start going out until after I was older than most of you are now. It's about where your life is at. |

Reasons i don't go out:
1)Not as fun anymore
2)The night always seems predictable
3)It's always a hassle in someway or another
4)Hate messing up my sleep pattern cause then I can't work out
5)Other important responsibilities
It just doesn't seem worth it anymore. The only thing that sucks is i haven't seen many of my friends in a while |

+1
Live happy do u -- I understand...
Most ppl know this of me, I was totally clue/nitelife/stuff free until age 28 (2002) with a typical college graduate/work/longterm-relationship-headin-toward-engagement (9yrs in fact). And then I discovered art school, hence myself, discovered trance, I totally reinvented myself and lost almost all of my past life, including a big chunk of friends.
I def lived it up these 4-5 yrs...and I don't regret it one bit. some would say it was transitional, maybe it is...but I'm so much happier now for having done it, discovering and facing truths about myself, as well as finding the ultimate love of my life. I really couldn't have asked for any better :D
So go ahead molly and have the time of ur life!! |

yea
i mean back in the day i used to go factory or exit or roxy every weekend
now iam kinda away from that scene i hit up a jp party once in a while
but not like it was
mostly because more trance and other types of music is in nyc now
not just house like it used to be
so these days iam more open to see other dj's and just basically all about the music the scene comes second
but yea some parties i still get really excited for
i remember last year the dayof armin at tobacco warehouse i kept wakeing up in the middle the night with excitement
and i finally was up at 6:30 in the morn and my mom was like "dam ur never up this early" |

I dont think you have actually read any of the above posts if you still think that the partying-out-theme has anything to do with getting old. |
