So I got see Magda and Richie Hawtin for the first time last night, and I'm willing to bet they played amazingly - but there's no possible way I could tell such a thing due to the absolutely atrocious sound at the Rave. Honestly, how anyone could think that was even remotely acceptable is beyond me - there's nothing worse than really, really muddy sounding techno.
So thank god we were able to get into VIP for the Hamptons set - because who knows when these kids learned how to spin techno, but were they great last night. Honestly, it was one of the most interesting sets I've heard in a long time, and was puuuuuuure techy good news with lots of vocal samples and effects. If I had to compare it to anything, it was as if James Zabiela and John Patterson got gay-married and had a set of twins that inherited all the best qualities of both. Sick.
Beyond that, I had an absolutely great time at afters. Thanks tons again to Andy and Nate for hosting, and to Nate for taking care of everything for the whole night... I had an absolute blast getting to hang out with everyone again!

of all the DJs that i heard last night (or could have heard), the best sets came from The Hamptons in the VIP room and then RJT at the afters.
and i'm not just saying that because i'm their girlfriend. i actually dumped Dan K last night, so that doesn't apply anymore.
but f'realz... TAs FTW!

i always hear such great things about the sound system at the rave.
they should just turn one monitor towards the dance floor and have someone hold a giant aluminum cone outward from it. it would be a vast improvement by the sound of it. |

man i was hungover today. hamptons- thanks for coming out, hope you guys made it back without too much trouble. you're always welcome to crash if you're in the area. rjt, myra, tony & co. it's always a pleasure, i'm just really glad that everything worked out at the last minute haha. dreamer good seeing you again too, even if it was only for a few seconds..
