I hate Underworld - Born Slippy and when he brought it in in the middle of Randy Katana - In Silence at Gatecrasher the other week I could have thrown a brick at him, but I will still put it on the forums.
Grow up and put what he played so if it is a tune I can be prepared for it in Berlin. |
Uh how can there be a full tracklist if a lot of the tracks he played no one could ID...did you not understand that?
Only SOME tracks were IDed and they have been posted...one of the tracks DA was talking about was Oceanlab - Satellite (new remix)
That was the best thing about the nite, that barely any tracks could be IDed.

the anthem, some type of crush vocals , a cheese vocals whose name I don't know, other then that a lot of twisted techno and some usual not too old tracks. I'm way out of date with tunes. A lot of the productions were good though ( I believe to be hes own ) |

| i believe this events reviews are way overhyped, all this "i believe in pvd again" and all this other melodrama is kinda korny and parochial. from the conflicting reviews, it was obviously nothing epic, just a slightly better than usual pvd space set, and hey lets face it those have been few and far between the last half decade. nothing to get your thong in a bunch about. good day:wtf: |

blah blah blah
PvD was better than the last two flop times (Spirts & WMC 06) & waaaaay better at that...he reminded me of the old PvD & that takes a lot.
wasn't about a decent anything, this was way better than I ever expected & I went expecting to be disappointed.
Glad to at least see he can still pull through & make me have a great time.
Anywaaaays the nite started out really gay because Ant had to pay $100 @ the door because they weren't selling door tix & the bouncer scammed him...I had gotten in thru Edgar's list but had to wait because the dumbfuk was blind & couldn't see Mel's name. Finally got in & Ant was super pissed of course so was I because it was absolute bull...we actually were thinking of leaving cuz we felt like it was going to end up being a disaster nite.
We decided to stick it out, listened to Edgar's opening set (which was great) till PvD came on.
We were sitting in the box right by the booth & he walked right by us when we were sitting down.
So he gets up there & we thought he already mixed into a track which sounded kinda WMC 06ish & I thought OH CRAP this isn't good. Like 5 min later the music fades & we hear a pounding bassline come in...we looked @ each other like OOOOH ...well that pounding bassline turned into those sick tracks like the ones he used to drop back in the days of his great sets. We figured we'd wait cuz @ Spirits he started banging & took the tempo down.
We waited & it was just bomb after bomb...I couldn't believe how good he was doing @ this point. The entire first hour I couldn't ID & we were jumping, dancing & pretty much happy to hear quality tunes coming from the speakers.
Ant wasn't pissed anymore lol. He felt it was worth it & he's an old school PvD fan so coming from him is saying a lot.
It was super crowded in the main room so Mel, Ant, Jasin & I decided to go upstairs...it was great up there. Later Richard (BDR) joined us & then Spacemasters...all of us were going crazy to PvD's set...Jasin kept saying "omg" lol we were all looking at each other with a WTF face.
Such a great nite with great people. All I could ID was
Cosmic Gate - Analog Feel
Sam Sharp - Deep
Thomas B - Constellation
PvD - Nothing But You (some siiiiiick ass remix)
& he played some SIIIIICK ass remix of Crush & I am so tired of that track but wow was that remix fuking good.
He dropped one of Randy Katana's new tracks & some other techy-tribally stuff.
All the tracks had a sick ass pounding bassline.
He had the main floor + second floor jumping & going crazy...even the guys working the lights @ Space lol.
Nothing like WMC 06 where everyone looked like they were sleeping.
Spectacular nite & besides Space being bitches @ the door we have no other complaints. The music made it good but Space bouncers fuked up the first portion of the nite.
All in all PvD was great & I'm glad I got proved wrong. |

Next time for sure.
I never thought I'd say this again, but I might look forward to seeing him again...just as long as they keep it 21+, 'cause it was way too crowded. 18+ would be a in' nightmare.

Some trips are worth going to even if it's alone, man. Trust me.
And for me to say THAT about this event...well
Aside from Flo I am/was the biggest PVD hater here...
I'm not saying I "believe in him" or some other as someone may insinuate...because Spirits and WMC 06 traumatized me for LIFE, but he def. did a top notch job...much, much MUCH better than I expected. Went in there expecting to be disappointed as Lis said.
People kept asking me if or the whole night. :p
*edit* I can't spell. |

Wow what a night!!
Pvd played his heart out!! I think his whole set was at 140bpm or higher!! Massive tune one after the other :eyespop:
Anyone know why the volume kept going up and down tho? :conf: During the blows my mind track the volume was going up and down. Eric said it was happening throughout his set, but i mostly noticed it during that track...Oh and that last encore song was a total kill to the set. It was way to slow, but it's all good...the 3+ hours of nasty tracks made up for that.
Good to see such a good turn-out too!! I'll see the true hardcore PVD fans in New York in two months :toocool: |
