we all know it wasnt as good now. But it doesnt stop people from having memorys of good times inside that building. I couldnt care for the place either but still i had some of my best nights out in there.

True. Would be nice though eh?!

Still a real shame.

Any more news on this?? Is it totally destroyed? Any confirmed info on re-build or not??

i believe the building will be knocked down. it will probably just be forgotten about GC will sell the land and make even more money.

well if this is to be the end of crasher, fitting that the last (proper) night was a PVD 6 hour set

Gatecrasher One was the Republic's evil bastardized half aborted **** of a twin, and deserves to burn.

Simon Raine probably started the fire so he could cash in on the insurance money to supply his retirement coke fund.

And yeh, as sleepy mentioned, the land is probably worth a load too.

they're rebuilding it:

does anyone have any decent pictures of inside the club back when it was republic? my first time there wasn't until 2004 so i never got to experience how it was back then. i still think it shat on just about every other big trance venue in the country though, based on layout, soundsystem & lighting.

The Fridge, brixton, was an amazing venue and i was quite simply in awe when i went there once. I don't know what it's like after its refurb tho.

all things come to an end eventually..

there was a tear in my eye when cream closed in late 2002 when i was 17, i never really got the chance to experience possibly the greatest club in the world at the time..

crasher will be back, i bet it goes the way of cream, abandoning its trance roots to gain a share in the house music market
