| basic time travel logic. why would James Cameron(director, executive producer, co-writer) not see the flaw of sending someone through time to affect a future in which the event of sending someone through time would not occur? The war will happen because it happens. |

| but why send a Arnold through time to protect john connor. he is supposed to live until he forms the resistance. if Arnold wasn't there, a meteor probably would've crashed into Agent Dogget's head. |

He only lives long enough to do that because they send him back to protect him from the skinny dude that can turn into liquid metal |

even if liquid man kills john connor, it would set up an alternate timeline where the war would STILL occur, and Conner would have been an insignificant casualty, and someone else would've risen to resistance leader, at which point, Skynet would send Liquidman back in time to kill the to-be general. General Connor's universe would still exist, where he is fighting skynet in 2036 |

dude, I think the whole point is that connor eventually leads the resistance to destroy skynet. Preventing the war was never an option, skynet is trying to kill him to prevent its destruction. If liquidman kills him, then there is noone to lead the resistance to destroy skynet.
My head hurts now also |
