its not actually. due to the moons gravitational pull it bulges at the centre, not making it a perfect sphere. |

i call bollocks. the moon's gravitational pull might make a bulge out of the water but thats about it. this does not preclude the earth from being a sphere. |

The land and oceans also effect the gravity of the earth, further lessing it's spherical shape.
In geospatial terms we call the Earth, a Spheroid, we know it isn't a perfect sphere but its the closest possible resemblance to one. |
