Like they say on their site - no. It just went into beta. |

Sometime in October I bet, unless they run into alot of bugs. |

Out of curiousity, is that based on something you heard? |

| They said on their site, 4 to 8 weeks is typical for a beta test before it's released. |

September should be about right but like Eldritch said, October if they find lots of bugs.

I'm quite excited about the arpeggiator though. I've honestly never seen the ability to mute selected notes in a sequencer. |
Uhh Cubase? You can mute individual notes. And say you use the VSTi Albino, you can choose which notes play in the arpegiator.
I am very excited for Reason 4 though. |

| oops...scratch the word sequencer, by that i meant a midi plugin. I mean, ableton has a nifty arp. plugin, but I'd like a bit more. I've been on the hunt for a MIDI effect VST that gives me that kind of control. I've found standalone programs, but alas, nothing user-friendly. |

Gotcha. Words can be confusing huh? Yea. Arpache is pretty cool but not a huge amount of customization. I really love the way Albino's arpegiator works. Makes me want to plan in it right now. Lol.
Thor looks sick huh? Nothing suber new, but new to Reason. I love programs like Reaktor and Karma Synth. Fun times. |

The big question is.
Are they freaking changing their sound engine? In terms of beats..Cubase and fruityloops > reason by far. The sound of reason is always nice. But it always felt supressed for some reason.
Thor looks awesome. might get back to making music. Wish they would create an Atmosphere kinda like synth with soundbank. more soundscapes from reason is needed since i used most of them when was producing heh. |

You felt supressed for some... Reason? LOL. Sorry I couldn't help myself.
Nothing is stopping you from making great sounds from Reason. My teacher Jake has made amazing sound tunes in Reason.
You can mix pretty well in Reason, but the real trick to making quality tunes is to MIX your track in a different DAW. Sure you can do a pretty good job in Reason alone, but when you can have access to better compressors and equalizers AND better automation features, you'll end up with a much better mix in say, Pro Tools, Cubase, even Ableton.
So yea. This fart-in-the-wind bull about Reason having a somehow inferior sound-engine, is just that.
However if you still feel that way, put it this way: Say I write a bunch of patches in Albino 3 VST, and I use NOTHING but Albino for my ENTIRE song (basses, drums, leads, etc). Then you could safely say my song sounds "Albinoy".
Meh. Do you kinda see where I'm going, I haven't had all my coffee yet this morning so I'm not on my A-Game just yet.
