OMG OMG OMG!!! Wot a stomping nite I have just had, went to the purpose built concert arena named after electronic manufacturer type people. Heard something BIG was going down so decided to show my face to see wot the hype wuz.
Started off with a nice train journey, unfortunately huddersfield to manky was late so missed connection. FUKKING TRAINS! Got to brum inter to find lots of new people never met b4, too many names and faces not enuff space in brain to remember. Stuck around 4 a bit then realised had bifter, baccy and no skins. So went on a massive mission to find some skins and ended up going to the airport. A nice place it is to! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, I will now use my new invention in the form of a time machine to go forward to a more interesting time, a time where loud 'bang bang' music, lots of people and flashy lights had become the norm in this grrrrrreat hall (I will correct myself there was in fact 3 halls).
First up was Nick Riley who played a couple of tunes which I recognised but coulodn't for the life of me remember wot they were called, total 'brain fade'. After putting cloak in cloak room I tagged along with the UKTA massive as they ventured into the DISCOTECH arena. Matt Hardwick had taken the stage and was playing a good solid selecting of walking pace progressive trancey stuff, which is wot ya need to warm up really. Then on came PvD, I was expecting a lot from this d00d and to be frank, I was dissapointed. I came to the conclusion he had had an argument with his missus b4 hand and could neither mix or chooz a good selection of tunes that the trancemeister himself is known for. Best choon he played was the Mirco de Govia remix of Ralpie B's Massive. Worse tune he played was punk. Playing tune like Punk and awakening just didn't seem to be his style. I'd expect dj's like jules and ferry to play punk and armin to play awakening and not PvD. But hey, each to there own. Other tunes that I remember PvD playing where: tell me why, 4 strings remix of desire, club attack and a vague recolection of nebuchan. Mauro was next and he played a good set, but he had some did some dodgy mixing as well. Don't listen to all the sets of pictotto, the only choon I recognised really was back to cali, as well as the last choon but could not remember wot it was called.
Scot Project was next in line to take the dekz, so I decided to follow raveape to the front and listen to the final set of the nite from that position. Have listened to scotty p's productions b4 as well as sets, but never seen im live. OMG, this guy was deffo my personal dj of tha nite which i saw. Totally flawless track selection and mixing, absolutely stunning. Need an ID on that second/third choon he played with the, "1,2,3" samples cos that was one stonker of a choon. Will definately be keeping an eye out for this guy when he comes to a club near me.
In conclusion, I spent about £110 squids and it was worth every penny. My advise is that if u didn't go go next time. So be there or be...... erm........ errr......gutted?!?!? |

But why, why and more frickin why do ppl just diss each other on here? The TA lot that i met last night were ing sound! Big shout out to all of you! LoginZ: what a bladdy nice chap! But mate, all that bout "did an awful lot of chillin out. pfft."...you're right in the fact that my good friend Dave C shudnt have danced on an empty stomach...but when it was his first time in a proper club with proper DJ's playing proper music, im sure he didnt know what to expect. He was quite shell shocked i feel! But at least he'll know to have a McDonalds before his next clubbing venture. And he in enjoyed himself so wat it matter?

You should always eat plenty before a night on the lash.
It increases your tolerance levels (which can be a good or bad thing, I consider it good if I have the money). It also reduces your hangover, and reduces the chances of throwing up.
Seriously though, Judge Jules is bloody everywhere. He's a slut. It's not every week you get the chance to see Picotto. |
