[Chilled Trance] Echano vs. OrgaNik - Mellow (320kbps full)

Hi y'all.

I thought I should put this up here since there hasn't really been anything out from us since the album (not that most of you even noticed the absence).

A while ago me & Mart were going through our old project files as we often do when we have nothing else to do. As usual, my files were utterly hopeless, but then Mart discovered this little gem from his files, originally from around 2003-2004 I believe. It was originally a slow, beatless thing, and being the arse that I am I naturally thought I had the right to rip it apart completely and make a new track out of it :p (and that's also the reason I won't use any of our existing aliases to release this).

And so, "Mellow" was born. It's a slowish, summery trance tune. Nothing spectacular or something that'll tear the roofs off clubs but I do think it's a rather airy and lovely little tune (then again I would, I'm biased).

Anyhoo, I know nobody actually read all that so I'll just go ahead and give you the link:

Nice work, I've listened 3 times now and I'm really feeling it.
I think you've hit the ideal distribution of elements; it's simple but substantial, and most importantly for a track of this nature, it's very easy to digest.

The thing I like least is perhaps the piano-esque sound - I'm not sure if it's the patch itself or the type of delay you've used, but it sounds a bit too metallic and synthetic for me. You may have intended it that way though, it's purely a personal thing.

Anyway, it's definitely the kind of thing I'd listen to again, so I'll add it to my stash.
Thanks for sharing! :)

The thing about all the synths is that I wanted to keep all of them authentic - they're all from the original 2003 file and I didn't change any of them (apart from adding a couple of extra layers on some). So while some of the patches could had been slightly better I feel it's more charming this way (to me anyway).

Masterfully done. Not much else to say.

Quality track though I keep hearing this sort of crackling. I'll have to listen on the monitors sometime next week and get a true feel for it, rather than on the headphones. Nice melodies though, I'll definitely use it :)

Nice one!

Some thoughts:
- I had the feeling that the percussions were a bit too loud compared to the rest
- At 2:23 it sounds a bit odd when the one hat suddenly stops

Overall really nice work, I really enjoyed the track
I think I will play this :)

btw. is there a chance to hear the original version?

P.S. I read the whole text in the first posting! :p :D

hey mystery.

i like this. and i am pleased you kept the track very tightly based around how it originally sounded. the synths work really well. piano is nice- a little 'baywatch' but i like it this way.

the mix is very upfront and airy. very good use of headroom. everything can breath so well!

great work. could to with being a liitle more relaxed in the perc/kick front to really be something that appeals to my palette.

great work guys

Another solid effort from you and Mart, as usual.

Nice chill out tune to relax to.

Nothing really stands out, but seems to blend well together as a tune.

Imagine away the bass, percs and beat and about 10bpm slower and there it is :p

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
