Drivers in your country (pg. 6)

American drivers are too busy eating their Big Mac and drinking their 2 liters of Pepsi.

I'm a horrible driver if any of my relatives are in the car with me.
I'm the youngest one in the family and they all think I'm blind and don't see or anticipate anything on the road around me and constantly shout random instructions causing me to become very nervous behind the wheel. I avoid this situation at all costs.

Other than that, I'm a very courteous driver - I let people pass, I leave a nice space cushion, and I never "try to make that green" if I know I won't be able to do it safely.

I don't like to go fast in the city - I'm always within the speed limits - unless I'm on the highway, then I'll adjust my speed according to the weather/flow of traffic/music I am listening to :toothless

I'd say 95% of my pet peeves come from that happens on the road. I'm a really laid back, mellow person but I easily turn into an infuriated psychopath when dealing with the ignorant drivers in the US. I've lived most of my life in Florida and North Carolina, and I think FL is the 2nd worst after spending a week driving around New York City... that will really fine tune your skills but it's stressful as hell.

In the most non sexist way possible, I have to say that women are the worst drivers around here. They could be better, but too often they're focused on their cell phones and whatever else to pay attention and it drives me f-ing insane!

looks like 8th ave/midtown on a friday rush hour. People that try to make that yellow light get stuck in the box and everyone wanting to go is stuck making it worse and worse until it take 20-30 minutes to go one block :wtf:

I know for a fact I am a skilled driver. I learn the limits of my car, adjust speed according to conditions, and am very aware of what is going on around me while driving. I am one of the truly good and skilled drivers. I used to own a couple of other better handling cars, and I miss them. I want better suspension again! :(

A. DC (beltway)

Bloody hell, this wins the thread for worst traffic. I just started a job that I have to drive from DC to Virginia every day for, and I've been able to avoid the Beltway thusfar, making my 12 mile drive only about an hour. But on Thursday the bridge I take over the Potomac was shut down due to a burst water main, and traffic was diverted to the Beltway. Took me over two hours to make the trip home. Twelve miles in two hours. I'm pretty sure I could walk it that quickly. And I even left work later than usual to avoid the worst of rush hour!

Same here. I'm 30 and I've never been in a car accident, not because of luck but because of awareness. Driving skill is chess, not checkers!
