sorry..i don't wanna get mad but really candykids are not all hopped up drug users.....me for instance i don't do anything.....didn't when i was a so called candy raver either....and there are many many people who don't do any sort of drug....
the only difference really is that we are on different sides of the ocean....wear a bit different clothes (cause we don't spend a bloody ign fortune on our clothes most of the time)
oh...and the clothes lookign good under the lights....how many ing good lights and uv lights do you get at a warehouse??? maybe the difference has to do with teh fact that u guys go to clubs.....and we got to "raves" or as actually every single person that i know calls them parties.
and another thing...we aren't all little 15 and 16 yr olds getting into clubs.....the majority of the parties that i go o and have been to (i used to promote em so i did go quite a bit) most of the poeple there are probly 18-22ish.......university aged students.
ok..thats my little rant for the night...sorry..i'm tired...bneen up way to late and just inhaled way to many chemicals in teh darkroom...it just really annoys me how none of you have even ever met a real candykid but yet can pass judgement on us |

haha, funny how you're trying to be angry but you don't come accross as an angry person :)
I can see how it's tiring to be associated with pre-judgments and stuff, cuz it's a fact it tires me aswell. when TA ppl associate cyberkids wiv cabdyravers i just KNOW they think about drug-abuse and if even I get tired about it, how must u feel!! :)
it's just whenever i see pictures of candyravers, they're never happy and dancing but ALWAYS (except your pic :p) too en high to enjoy any kind of dj!
and you know what annoys me even more: people from america have this irrational attitude of "always being first to do smth and always being the best in it and knowing the most of it" and THAT'S also why i have a grudge against these candyravers. coz i have the feeling they think they were the first, the coolest and the best and I HATE THAT :)
I know i'm generelasing here but it's just a general feeling I have (i actually didn't know any us peeps before i came to this board, let alone heard of candy ravers - even cyberkids for that matter)
but please erin, you have to admit: cyberkids just look nicer :toothless

does nobody know what a rave is anymore..??!! :p
a rave isnt an organised big bash... a rave is an illegal party thrown in a disused warehouse.. raves are still goin over the other side of the pond but the rave scene has pretty much died here because we found that we can do exactly the same thing in a nice comfy club :)
as for the lights erin... gatecrasher raves (back in the days when gatecrasher was an illegal rave) used to cart around lighting rigs so dont come that one with me :)
the difference btween cany's and cybers is not the ocean... we have a few candys here.. the difference is the clothes that they wear. when i said they have a reputation for bein nobbers i wasnt generalising, i was stating the general concensus of the rest of the clubbing world :) but yes, sometimes i do get the feeling that the american candykids think that they were first, which is just really funny :) |

ok first things...yes i do know what a rave is! i have been to many! i have helped with many! we have had parties literally in the middle of no-where...its the word of mouth...its the having to go to this checkpoint, and then find the grey car..blah blah blah..to get directions or a map to the place of the party..trust me i've done it many many times
carting around lights? how the hell do you have enough elctricity from a generator to have a fancy light set up???? no true raves that have been to have...the only parties that i have been to that have decent lights are ones that are not true raves....but rather here it is in that stage of getting commercial and its terrible...cause people start coming cause they think its "cool" not cause they luv the music and the people!!!!

lol..look at pictures of some of the old cyber kids...they look a lot damn like some of teh candykids i know.....
and how can u say that all teh candykids here are like the ones there when u have never met any of us! maybe the candykis there are completley different, and the candykids here are different then the ones in the US....i just hate the typical stereotyping that they are all idiots!
i have never met a canadian of american candykid that thought they the US had it first...if they do then they are some try hard poser that doesn't give a about it, is only in the scene casue they are one of those people who think that its the in thing to do...
and yes we do have clubs as well, but honestly the atmosphere in any club i've been to here is crap! you can't have that seem feeling in a club as you get in a warehouse or outdoor party!!! they are not the same whatsoever! maybe if you gusy had the chance to come to a true rave you woudln't be so judgemental of the scene and the candykids here
and dammit! i was proud to be a canykid! i was not some sketchy ed up kid who ran around doing drugs and telling people PLUR (never met anyone that does that in 4 years of being heavily involved in the scene) i was just a person who enjoyed the music and the people and liked to dress up all fun and colorful!!! so is that somethign to be looked down on??? |
