You obviously never played then.
Once your team knocked out a member of the opposite team they came on to your side and stood on the sides and in the back of you. Yes there was a boarder around your whole section which they couldn't cross but they still surrounded you. |

in our gym the 2 sides were divided by a straight line. there was no way to surround the last player. once you got tagged out, you were out, and you had to go sit on the edge of the stage (our gym was also our auditorium). |
