here's the costs for armin only last year. I spent a weekend:
airfare: 450
hotel: 350 (175 a night * 2)
ticket: 40
food: 100
substances: 100
total: 1040
I didn't pay for a single train ride the entire time i was there. Obviously you can save a bunch by staying at a hostel. Plus you can skip out on a night in a hotel by storing your in a locker at the airport for about 8 euro, and not getting a hotel/hostel the night you do the event. |
No way airfare is 450. Which airlines? I wanted to go to amsterdam a while ago, and i almost had to pay $800+ roundtrip. Unless you didn't count the roundtrip price :p |

yes, of course. tickets in april/may are more expensive. ticket fares during summer are sky high. in October/november they drop down to somewhere between $450 - $550. The cheapest fares are during jan-feb-march; fares from $400-$500...
also, it makes a HUGE difference in price the time you book your flight. Buying way in advance will ensure the cheapest tickets. buying a ticket 1, or 2, or 3 weeks before your flight; expect to pay much much more.
Continental airlines are probably the cheapest airlines flying to Holland. (flights are from Newark Airport, NJ) |

...so the lineup will be:
Ferry Corsten
Cosmic Gate
Erick E
Christopher Lawrence
Fedde Le Grand
Dogzilla (a.k.a. Simon Patterson)
Breakfast
Secret Cinema vs Grooveyard
quote from Ferry's website:
"My guests will appear one by one with me on stage and we will play back to back for about 45 mins. After that, I will continue on my own again untill the next guest appears. This way, the night will get a very interresting flow and will be a big challenge for all artists involved.
So, I WILL play the WHOLE night...The rest of what's to come, you'll have to find out for yourself...I can only say that it's great!!!"

i bought 3 weeks prior to the event, and the airline was KLM out of kennedy.
As Marcin said the time of the year is key. The cost of flights to europe follows the temp. Seriously! |
So a few months later, I still ask the question. Will it be around $450 if I buy the tickets at least 2-3 weeks in advance? I should the money sometime in the middle of October I should think. |

Mike, u gotta check every day.
right now they're bethween $650 - $700 (all taxes & fees included). i would wait until middle of september, and see what happens. I don't think these fares will drop below $550.
when fares drop around $600, i'm booking my flight.

i always fly Continental Airlines from Newark,NJ to Holland. They are the cheapest. they always offer 2 daily non-stop flights to Amsterdam. the only thing is, getting from long island to Newark airport is a bitch!
i'm gonna be looking for flights from JFK/La Guardia this time. maybe it will be cheaper this time... |

I went to the KLM website and I typed in the information. Departing Oct 26th. in the morning, and then leaving on the 28th in late evening. They said there were no flights during that period :conf: I put in JFK and La Guardia as the two options from NY to RTM (Rotterdam).
Dunno if I was doing anything wrong. If there's a different destination that I should put in, someone can let me know. |
