I wanna be prepared. If I need to get something organized or have something engraved/personalized or whatever, I want it to be ready. So I am trying to figure out the first part now.

Someone please tell me how to change that site to english!!!!

P.S. Why does firefox say english is not spelled correctly? And why doesn't it recognize it's own name?

If I were to do that I'd try to buy two stars that orbit around each other and then name one for me and one for the girl...thats still cool that you did that, I would love it if a girl did that for me (helps though that I'm into astronomy whereas a lot of guys aren't).

Meh... the whole star thing seems corny to me. I dunno, is it officially changed so that it will always be known by that name for the rest of time, and when people looked it up, they would find it there? Or is it something only you would personally know?

Are they stars you can see with the naked eye?

Link to site so I can decide if it really sucks or not, plzkthx.

Sunsnail
No.

It is important to note, however, that the names in this book are neither recognized by the scientific community nor used by them. In fact these names are essentially without meaning, as they have no existence anywhere outside of the ISR's book—which, as the organization's advertising prominently states, is "registered at the U.S. Copyright Office"—just like any other book published in the United States. (Copyright protects the rights of a book's author, but does not imply that the U.S. government endorses or vouches for the book's contents.)

The International Astronomical Union (IAU), not the ISR, has the internationally recognized authority to name and designate newly discovered stars, planets, asteroids, comets, and other heavenly bodies. The IAU's nomenclature, not the ISR's, is the one used by professional and amateur astronomers all over the world. It is not for sale.
